Reince Priebus previews RNC ‘autopsy’

A much-anticipated Republican National Committee Chairman report due out Monday on how to reverse the GOP’s fortunes is expected to call for fewer Republican debates, a condensed primary calendar and an earlier party convention.

In an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus outlined those three main recommendations for the 2016 presidential election. The RNC’s so-called “autopsy” — a detailed review of the GOP’s 2012 failures and roadmap going forward — will also include suggestions to improve the party’s digital capabilities and bolster its voter database, among other proposals.

Priebus is set to unveil the plan — titled the “Growth and Opportunity Project” — Monday morning at the National Press Club.

“And yet, here you are, advocating defeat on the attempt by the GOP-E, the DNC, and the extreme left on the Homosexual agenda.”

That is erecting a very lovely strawman, but thanks anyway.

Nope, just the truth, especially when you state we need to de-emphasize our approach on the social issues like you have on this thread.

I like the idea of awarding the states that had the highest percentage of votes for the Republican candidate in the last election getting first dibs on primary dates.

What?!! Provide incentive to win? Base rewards on performance? Why, that's absolutely outrageous!

Oh joy, yet another uneducated Kool-Aid drinker

Who are you talking about, SoConPubbie? Or the guy who wrote the manifesto he quoted (below)?

Maybe both?

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

See there you go. Never once did I say I opposed any of these.

Never once did I say I supposed any of these.

Good.

I’ll be eager to hear how Rand Paul and his followers intend to carry forth their pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, anti-homosexual, anti-abortion, pro-capitalism and pro-national defense policies in the coming weeks.

Or maybe you’d like to fill us in?

I never brought up Rand Paul. That’s putting words in my mouth.

Basically this. The GOP should be less pepsodent and adult diapers and more Budweiser, Dominoes, and Buffalo Wild Wings. And it wouldn’t hurt to throw in some Victoria’s Secret and McDonalds as well.

You are right. I assumed he was the spokesman for your cause. My apologies.

But I also expressed interest in your opinions on many of the principles underlying the stated mission of FR.

And the key word here is “excessive”. Talk about social issues but don’t believe that they will propel the GOP to a majority.

Wrong! We do not compromise on our God-given unalienable rights!! Period!!

Never give up on Life, Family, Country, Liberty, Constitution!

Never surrender your God, your guns, your Liberty, your rights!!

You give up one right, they’ll start on taking another. It’s a never ending battle against the enemy within, the creeping usurpers!

That’s why our forebears advised:

“A Republic IF you can keep it.”

“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.”

“Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction.”

“DON”T TREAD ON ME!”

“Give me Liberty or give me death!”

“Never give up, never give in, never surrender!”

“NUTS!”

FR may be one of the last bastions of grassroots conservatives defending our constitution and our American heritage: God, Life, Family, Liberty, guns, Constitutionally limited government, states rights (the tenth amendment), economic freedom, religious freedom, individual freedom, etc., ie, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!!

We shall never surrender our island of sanity or our defense of God, Life, Family, Country, Liberty!!

Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity is each generation’s sacred duty!!

Surrender Liberty? NOT ON MY WATCH!!

Don’t like it, please feel free to join RINOs are us dot com.

I am not just goading or joking either.

If we are to end up with Rand Paul or some other Libertarian candidate, what are we social conservatives to expect and how are we to deal with our own powerful, long-standing convictions on important issues like marriage, abortion, drug use, immigration and a powerful military?

“The GOP should be less pepsodent and adult diapers and more Budweiser, Dominoes, and Buffalo Wild Wings. And it wouldn’t hurt to throw in some Victoria’s Secret and McDonalds as well.”

When I said they’re terrible at marketing themselves, it’s not one big thing, it’s the little things that all add up. Like at Obama’s inauguration when Peter King had never heard of Jay-Z and said “I don’t know anything about rap. The last music I listened to was Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers.” Statements that end up making the GOP just look very out of touch. Of course it helps the Democrat cause that they own 80% of the media.

You can go down the line. In some other areas, Allen West would have been a superior running mate for Oven Mitt to Paul Ryan, who was ok but had no real passion or intensity.
