Exactly....and there was no "leader" to be found amongst the pack. Generally speaking, Senators are poor leaders, governors tend to be better, and that may be the reason that in the end, people were more comfortable with Romney over the others.
Having worked with MIT graduates I’ve seen it many, many times, you are exactly right. Everyone in the room is absolutely certain their approach is right and no one else’s idea has any merit.
I for one encourage the ChiComs to pursue their eugenics experiment to the best of their ability.

My ideal Presidential candidate, regardless of party, is a state governor who has completed at least one term in office and has been reelected (i.e., has actual experience in running a bureaucracy, establishing policy, writing and enforcing budgets, meeting crises, planning for the future, building coalitions, etc.).
Legislators, meh...too easy for them to walk away from controversy, betray their promises, play to the polls/crowds, etc.
