For the fourth consecutive night residents, police officers, and news crews converged on East Flatbush Brooklyn Thursday to take part, respond to, and report the outrage over the fatal police shooting of 16-year old Kimani Gray. Carol Gray told Pix11, “He’s not the public’s angel. But he’s my baby. And he was slaughtered. And I want to know why. Even after the first shot, second bullet, why third bullet, why fourth bullet, why?”
Gray’s mother seemed to acknowledge the negative characterizations of her son now swirling in the media.
Statements made by the NYPD that Gray was armed, his gun recovered at the scene and other media reports that the teen was an alleged gang member.

look, she still loves him and if there had been more opportunity for him to have a real job, maybe he wouldn’t have gone down the path he did. There is no opportunity in the city. The jobs for teens are now taken by adults whose job lives have been devastated by our huge unmanageable no debt problem. There is a lot of pressure on these guys to produce money from somewhere, caused by our culture’s sick emphasis on money and the wrong idea that everybody is a star. Obama contributes to it by acting like a nouveau riche conspicuous consumer. He probably has a little baby somewhere too and so the state is after him for child support. Selling drugs is a career choice, pretty much the only one in the urban areas. It is bad out there. I do not approve of the police shooting these kids, they should reach out to them and tell them there is hope not gun them down.
If whites “riot”, they/we are going after the politicians.

Yes, you are of course correct, the kid likely had either a deadbeat dad or a worthless dad. This is a cause for compassion, not hatred. The kid had many strikes against him, lived in the ghetto, had no part-time job, no dad, no one who loved him. What would you have done? How would you have turned out? Instead of being cynical and hopeless, start wrestling with how do we turn this devastation around? How do we teach men to think about something other than their own gratification and start to behave in the way a father really should, protecting and providing? This kid would likely have had a better chance if he had a father to protect and provide instead of being flung out to seek his fortune on the mean drug infested streets of some cold city.

Well, of course. But many fathers are falling down on the job. They are not protecting and providing for their children and are out womanizing and drinking and drugging and acting like idiots.
The rioters are NOT the owners of the property they are destroying. They don't care if stores get wrecked, as long as they get loot. And if a welfare residence gets burned out, the city will supply them with a new, fresh residence elsewhere, and new stuff.
Which means that in certain areas, they would not be able to have ANY sex.

Women would “pick better” if the consequences for choosing poorly were not alleviated at the expense of other people, at government gunpoint.
Humans are not animals that go into heat and HAVE to have sex.
Why? Because they can, and they see no upside in marrying and supporting some ghetto harpy and her brood.
Why do the women have babies with them? Because that's the way to get money without having to work.
What's the solution? Stop enabling bad behavior. End the welfare state.
We should take money from people who are working and give it to these poor city kids. That’s the solution.

Thats my point, without TWO caring parents (or atleast one) this kid didnt have much of a chance. THE PARENT(S) failed this kid which in my opinion is why he is dead, not because the cops “slaughtered” him as the mother says. As far as hating, the only thing I hate is hearing the same story over and over with the people that are the root cause of the whole thing blaming the cops EVERY time. As for myself, I stayed in school, only a high school grad but I had two loving parents to keep me straight and that IMHO is the difference. Make no mistake, this problem begins in the home.
I don’t think giving them the money would help, but if they had a part time job and could develop some self respect, that would help. But the Democrats have seen to it that the urban areas are devastated and there are no jobs for teenagers.
I would rather they loot and pillage and destroy their own neighborhoods if it kept them from “channeling their anger” at whites who didn’t have anything to do with this kid being a thug.
As for others here who commiserate over punks like this only being a product of their environment that the collective “whitey we” have created is patent BS. The collective “we” have spent Trillions and Trillions of dollars, seized by our government from us, to create these idyllic paradises. What else do these ‘citizens’ want?

I would like to see his school records, his class attendance records, to hear from his teachers. Was he an avid student, studying so he could get and hold a job, determined to change his life for the better? If he could not find ‘a job’ that someone paid him for, did he figure out a way to work and earn money on the side, so he could get out of his desperate circumstances?
Did he have the moral fortitude to know that it was HIS responsibility to work so others did not have to support him? Not his momma, not the government teat?

My father did not have a good childhood. He joined the Army. He told me that the Drill Sergeants showed him how much they cared about his poor childhood. He started taking responsibility for his life.
None of us can step into a time machine and magically transport back to the time when a kid’s life goes to crap. We can, however, demand that he behave in a civilized manner.

well, I think it is the problem of all of us, much as we would like to wash our hands of it, we all share a planet and, at this point, Christian values have to vigorously fought for and taught, and condemning a kid because he didn’t “ have the moral fortitude to know that it was HIS responsibility to work so others did not have to support him” without ever having heard it or having seen it modeled or having an opportunity to have a part time job because all the small businesses are devastated is wrong.
