Is youth the answer for the Republicans in 2016?
World Outline ^ | 4th March 2013 | Michael Foley

To give the Republicans a new lease of life requires an injection of youth to mix with experience.

With Mitt Romney following his nominee predecessor John McCain’s fate in losing to President Obama back in November, the Republicans have another four years of soul-searching ahead of the next war for the White House in 2016.

Many challenges face the party running up to the election. The inter-party divisions between the moderates, social conservatives and the Tea Party movement remain very much alive, they face a long four years of an emboldened Obama administration following its election victory, and the quest to find a candidate to face a new Democratic challenger begins in earnest. The formula for electoral success remains simple: appeal to the party faithful, yet be broad enough to steal votes from the centre and independent blocs. The catch-all party strategy.

Selecting a face for the party would kill both birds with one stone. An effective leader not only unites the party faithful, but also appeals to swing voters, particularly in battleground states. This is not exactly complex stuff for political analysts or electoral strategists; rather, the challenge is finding another Abraham Lincoln, another Theodore Roosevelt, another Ronald Reagan. Who can appeal to the working, middle and upper classes? Who can attract both males and females? Who captures the needs of a person voting for the first time, to a person who has been voting for as long as he or she can remember? What about race politics – the Asian vote, the Latino vote, the African-American vote, the white vote – who can appeal across the multicultural spectrum?

This reminds me of the old joke about engineers.

How does a person get out of a 15' deep, 10' wide, round hole with smooth verticle sides?

Engineer: "First, assume a ladder . . . ."

I always heard that joke, but using an economist to “assume” something.

Yeah, they’re really good at assumptions. Like Krugman assuming if we only spent a few more trillion, the economy would really take off.

Conservatism is the answer for the GOP. If the GOP does not embrace that, then the GOP is not an alternative to the Dims and is therefore meaningless.

The more conservative republicans get the more successful they are..
The more liberal they get the more of failure they produce..

Doesn’t take a genius to figure the right path and tactics..
Sooo obviously republicans generally are quite STUPID..

The next question is... what does it take to piss off a republican generally?..
Answer is not much.. they pretty much stay pissed off, its just that they are too lazy to do anything about it..

Take voter fraud for example.. they refuse to acknowledge it..
The only way to put a republican into direct action is..
Try to take away their givernment check..

Republicans generally are socialists.. that harangue democrats for being socialists..
Oh!.. and worship the republican party as Holy..

Proof: Social Security is absolutely PURE socialism.. that literally NO REPUBLICAN is against.. Next time you see a republican, bitch slapp him/her..

“Proof: Social Security is absolutely PURE socialism”

Wrong. SS is a TRUST, paid into all of our working lives by ourselves and matched by our employers so we can have some security when we reach 67. It is no different than car insurance. I’ve paid into that all my driving life and never had a claim.

Welfare, Obamacare, foodstamps, housing assistance, utility assistance, Medicaid are socialist programs.

You are buying into the left’s propaganda when you state that SS is a socialist program.

Getting a younger ‘Pubbie, huh?

Lessee, so far, the youngsters have not shown much to energize the base. Outside of a handfull of exceptional folks like Ted Cruz and . . . . . . . . . . like Ted Cruz, there doesn’t appear to be too much to cheer about.

Unfortunately, Senator Cruz isn’t eligible for POTUS. The best he could hope for would be VPOTUS.

Youngsters in the GOP-e, however, give the Democrat-lite party a LOT to look forward to!!

I should also mention that changing the face of the GOP-e begins with getting a new face for the RNC chair. Reince has, apparently, already chosen our candidate . . . . . . . . . er, LOSER for 2016, Jeb Bush!

Try sleeping with THAT thought in your head tonight!!

No you’re wrong.. there is no trust.. no invested money by years of taxpayers(investors)..
The democrats stole that money long long ago..
SS comes from the general fund.. and has for many many years..
Also SS contributions go into the general fund..

SS is PURE socialism.. the main vector of United States Socialism..
You’re very very gullible.. STOP IT..
