Battery is the only thing I can think of.
I am on a toshiba laptop at the moment. My 2005 asus is still perking along with XP, but it has been wiped and re-installed a couple or three times.
We gone. A bit later start tomorrow and 8 hours, but 12 hours thursday and Friday.

Well, I am not running on battery, but I can see where it might be the problem.
I do not, however, know why the blue AC power light goes out in synch with the orange battery charge light.
Both of them blink off for a second every 12 seconds, or so.
If I try to boot, both power and battery lights flash erratically. The boot screen comes up, then it crashes.
I have another Toshiba at the wife’s family compound.
I will switch battery and p/s and see what I get.
