The group includes Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Marco Rubio of Florida and Jeff Flake of Arizona. The Democrats are Sens. Charles E. Schumer of New York, Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Michael Bennet of Colorado.

These clowns, and the Republican Party as a whole, need a Cruz Missile. It's time for the Republican Party to go away if this actually happens.

The Open Borders Crowd looks to swell food stamps and entitlement rolls as they throw Americans out of work.

Its a path to a permanent democrat majority and perpetual expansion of government.

how to offer legal status to the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants.

Where did this 11 million number come from? It had been stuck at 12 million no matter how many came it for around a decade. And now it has dropped by a million. I still believe the number is closer to 30 million than 11.

Thay are calling this bi-partisan.

Is there really and party difference other than name between the 8 traitors who are meeting on this.

We are being sold out.

When the border has been closed tight for a year, Then it will be a time to decide who qualifies to stay here and who doesn’t , and being here should be a small part of that.

For eaxmple.
1. Do they speak and understand English?
2. have they been working or on some form of welfare.
3.Have they paid taxes?
4.have they made any effort to become citizens?
5.How many DUI’s do they have, and how many times have they been arrested, have they gone home and then snuck back in?
6. can they pass the test to become naturalalised citizens.

RE :”WASHINGTON — Eight senators who have spent weeks trying to write a bipartisan bill to overhaul immigration laws have privately agreed on the most contentious part of the draft — how to offer legal status to the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants.
According to aides familiar with the closed-door negotiations, the bill would require illegal immigrants to register with Homeland Security Department authorities, file federal income taxes for their time in America and pay a still-to-be-determined fine. They also must have a clean law enforcement record.
Once granted probationary legal status, immigrants would be allowed to work but would be barred from receiving federal public benefits, including food stamps, family cash assistance, Medicaid and unemployment insurance.
The group's current draft is largely in line with President Obama’s call to set a pathway to earned citizenship as part of a broader immigration reform package, as well as with recent efforts by prominent Republican lawmakers to resolve an issue that hurt GOP candidates in November's election.......
Still undecided is how long illegal immigrants would need to wait before they could apply for permanent resident status and eventually become citizens. The delay for a green card probably would be 10 years or longer, the aides said.”

Rubio agreed to ‘path to citizenship’ before the negotiations even started but now doesn't does not appear to be in a hurry to tell us the details of how and when. I dont see a deal that Dems will accept until he does, this looks intended to show promise.

Say they passed a bill that delayed citizenship for 10+ years, that would be in line with their ideas on entitlement reform, delaying that 10+ years.

Candy now, medicine later.

Agreed. I expect McGrahamnesty to sell out the Republic but Rubio will absolutely kill his conservative cred by signing on. Which matters not a whit to me.

30 million illegals is enough to create some 50 new congressional districts (primarily democrat) Now imagine how much money 50 more democrats in Washington can spend.

Illegals are nothing but government growth hormone.

The 11 million number is based on fantasy. It probably was chosen because it is a lucky number for Democrats.

An aide said the bill would require illegal immigrants to register with the Department of Homeland Security, file federal income taxes, pay an as-yet undetermined fine and have a clean law enforcement record, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday.

Once they have probationary legal status, immigrants would be allowed to work but would be barred from getting federal public benefits, including food stamps, family cash assistance, Medicaid and unemployment insurance, the aide said.
