If we all believe that a total system collapse is almost inevitable then why don’t conservatives sign up for every one of these programs they can, use the extra money to prepare themselves for the coming economic doomage and go ahead and hasten the crisis? ... Of course that would require a willing suspension of morality

On the contrary, it would require a willing application of morality. But they can't be bothered.

Signing up for welfare requires eligibility. One would have to divest oneself of much income and assets. Who does that for the sake of America?

If enough people did that -- just a substantial number of conservatives, together -- the government would cave before the EBT cards could be delivered.

But as I said, they can't be bothered.

Not all conservatives are that well off and the requirements for government assistance aren't that restrictive.

You're missing the point, but I have made it in numerous earlier posts. For "much income," read: "much of one's own income."

If one reduces one's income to the level at which one qualifies for welfare, one does not need to pay income tax. If the productive (not the "well off") people got together and did it in an organized way (reduced income to avoid income tax), with the purpose of restoring liberty, the government would surrender so fast there wouldn't be time to pay out welfare.

That would entail some inconvenience, though; even hardship for the sake of America.

Think about how this works. The liberals (some of them)have honorable intentions, but they are incapable of seeing the unintended consequences.

When you subsidize those that can’t or won’t work - you sustain them to do something. Idle people tend (especially young people) toward a couple of activities - crime and procreation. So the act of food stamps, welfare, etc. results in even more people to sustain and increased crime - thus the crapholes that many of our inner cities have become.as long as we subsidize this, the worse the problem will become.

The so called “compassion” is not compassion at all, it is an increasing of the problem with no way out except bankruptcy and anarchy

If my tax accountant tells me that my middle class family qualifies I would be a bad steward of my family’s potential recources not to jump in. These insidious Fabian socialists are realizing their dreams of the takers destroying the dreams of people like me working extra hard to move up the income ladder. Too bad commie socialist pigs- kicking ass is in our DNA!

What is the alternative to food stamps?

Food Stamps are a way of giving money to the grocery business as well as feeding America’s freeloaders.

It would make more sense if the money were given to soup kitchens. If people are really hungry they’ll eat there and pick up other items at food banks and other assorted charities/relatives/wealthier neighbors/etc., that feel sorry for them.

In return for the taxpayer given food they can clean and tidy up neighborhoods and be forced to grow vegetables in every vacant space in America.

Obama is the entitlement guru! What a failure to establish a record with close to 50 million people on food stamps! Obama does not represent the working tax payer, he represents the entitlement people. Those who can’t work, who can’t feed their babies, who can’t afford a car, who can’t afford housing, who can’t get a job, who can’t keep a job, who can’t pay for their medical, and those who can’t be a productive member of this country! Obama does not represent the American’s, Obama represents the Americant’s!
