House GOP Leaders: We Can Pass Gun Control, Immigration, Without Republican Support
Big Government ^ | March 10, 2013 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 03/10/2013 2:39:04 PM PDT by Bratch

With more and more conservatives in the House rebelling against John Boehner’s increasingly questionable Speakership, Republican House leadership is now moving to quash in-house concerns by reaching across the aisle for support.

[...]

This is a declaration of war within the Republican ranks. And it should be deeply troubling to Republicans across the country, watching as the recently and controversially reminted House leadership continues to pursue the same political philosophy that led to a mini-rebellion in the House in January.

-— The want to dilute and neutralize the political power of conservatives so they don’t have to deal with uppity Americans that demand liberty and prosperity year-after-year. -—

I’ve come around late to this way of thinking.

Our last hope is with the Tea Party remnant.

"The rule was designed to limit amendments to the government funding bill, but some House conservatives, concerned over the Boehner team’s refusal to consider a floor vote on an amendment to defund Obamacare implementation, bucked Boehner on the rule.

........enough said.

I think Sapiro is stirring the pot.

Further down the article after some non committal answers from McCarthy Crowley says I guess I am not going to get an answer on that one.

Then the article acknowledges that :"Boehner has never explicitly endorsed the Hastert rule, but has said he would only bring bills to the floor that were backed by a “majority of the majority.”

Repub “leaders”? These rino/sell-out/unprincipled tools are with the enemy (i.e., the LIBs of all types). They hate Conservatives and anyone with principles, morals and ethics. Leaders? Meh...

It would probably take about 80-100 conservative GOP representatives to formally resign from the house Republican Caucus and form their own party/caucus in order to force Boehner out as Speaker, due to he no longer enjoying the majority of House support required to hold on to his Speakership.

With this many conservatives exiting the GOP house caucus, it will force a special House election for a new Speaker. This large number of defections will also provide insurance against any effort to get a dozen or two Democrats to be able to cross party lines and vote to keep Boehner on as Speaker.

Queen Nancy Pelosi may well end up as Speaker again, if only for a very brief time, until the GOP caucus defectors rejoin the rest of the GOP caucus to again form a House majority, but only after getting the rest of the GOP caucus to accept their conditions for return.

The conservative defectors from the GOP caucus can agree to return to the GOP caucus, but first force the remaining members of the GOP caucus to reject any of the current GOP leadership from assuming the Speakership and insist that the new Speaker bring back the Gingrich/Hastert rule that if any bill up for House Consideration does not enjoy the majority support from the GOP Caucus, then the bill will be pulled from the floor by the Speaker and not voted on.

The Speaker, on their own authority, can pull any bill from the floor of the House and block any vote on it. To override the Speaker and force a vote on any bill that they may pull, the House must come up with a super majority (two thirds majority) to override the Speaker and force a vote on any bill that the Speaker blocks from a House vote.

Been that way for a while. They just can’t hide as good any more. Obummer care could of been gone a while ago but the azzhats in charge were looking for the same thing. Control over the people. Just happened to be with a few useful idiot rats to get the ax. They were the pawns in their sick little minds.
You think about it, the core group of “rulers” are still running the show. The problem is that they need a tar and feathering like in the past. They need to be completely embarrassed for what they do. These people are playing for keeps.

This isn’t just an ideological/policy problem, it’s a MAJOR strategic and tactical error.

The House GOP needs to be forcing the Dem Senate to produce legislation, hopefully causing fissures within the Dem caucus between Reid and his Progressives and the five or so Red State Dems up for reelection this year.

Up until now, it looked like Boehner/Cantor/et al were doing just that. Now, not so much.

“Do we have 2 years left?”

Not if they join the Democrats. But they also don’t want to spend the rest of their lives as outsiders. The power of being in DC is addictive, that’s why I don’t think they’ll pull this crap...but I can be wrong.

“If the RINOs want a war with conservatives maybe it's time they got one.”

I agree 100%! If the RINO’s want this fight , then by God lets get it on!!!!!!!!!!! 65 million firearms were purchased in the last year alone, the RINO’s want to work with liberal socialist to push through “gun control” legislation, which really means a “federal firearm registry data base” then lets identify these numnuts and move against them immediately! Nothing prevents the American people from recalling these pieces of shit!

Starting with McNasty and Goober Gramnesty!!! The Country cannot survive and the conservatives will not make headway until this fight is fought and won, moving the old guard out of the way, allowing the young conservatives, e.g. Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul to start reforming this out of control government!

Lets get it on my fellow Americans, these RINO’s need to put up or shut the hell up!!!

They aren’t RINOs. This is what the Republican Party has become. That term is obsolete.

Call an ace an ace.

They aren't stupid and they aren't cowards. They WANT to give the illegal aliens citizenship.

I disagree, I think they actually are afraid of the issue and are tired of the issue, so they buy into the fantasy that granting amnesty to millions of illegals will somehow be a plus for the Republican party. But it would be the biggest negative possible at this point, assuring millions of new Dim voters a few years from now.

They mostly want to be free of the issue, and they despise the conservatives who refuse to go along with their caving in to the Dims and others who support amnesty.

If you think about what bills are past and what happens to the core group of rat and rat-light rulers over the past 20 years or so you will see that they are still there. From the last few elections we have learned how this works. The rulers of these party s are so entrenched that they can just about do anything against their own constituents and still get elected. If you look back to 94 when rat-lights had gained the house, the did so against a house speaker who was defeated not just as speaker but lost his seat in congress.

I am sure this is all calculated right down to the excuses. The leadership is playing like they are not that scared, why? Why would you be so blatantly against your constituents and your party's core beliefs if you didn't know what was ahead? It is like spending the banks money when the withdrawl is happening well after it becomes worthless.

Yes, what I’ve been calling “The Central Committee”

And they all HAD to have, Extortion-Care, for immediate access to everyone elses paychecks, except their own “Exempt”.

And their so called “banks” “stress tests”, stress in like testing making sure they have immediate free and easy access to taxpayer money.

I ‘think’ you’re right, but if you’re wrong, this spark will light a fire that can not be put out.

If on THIS SINGLE ISSUE they can not stand together, and stand with us in defense of our Constitution, perhaps our very lives, all doubt will be gone. They will have made themselves far more than a disappointment—they will have made themselves the enemy.

I am praying that you’re right.

I am soooo mad right now I could SPIT!!

Sarah’s words were so spot on. It’s not enough to change the uniforms, we need to change the players. Clean the House takes on a whole new meaning. They hate us more than the Left that they would do harm to the country to maintain their hold on power? EFF that “ruling class”.
