No one will miss the difference if you randomly load. 38 rounds intermingled with. 357 magnum rounds. My colt trooper .357 magnum will fire both but the difference between the two is remarkable.

The punks gun is a colt trooper 357, i believe

First 2 in this comparison pic are the 357 Magnum and the 38 Special. Roughly 1/8” longer case on the 357 but much larger powder charge is normally loaded.

Here is a very good article comparing many hand gun cartridges. The number that will accept the same diameter bullet is amazing.

Most of those who shoot do not know how many bullets can be substituted in a pinch. I have a 170 grain bullet mold that I bought to cast bullets for my Winchester 94 30/30, but the same bullet can be loaded in both 308 and 30-06 cartridges. It works fine.

In the even it is hard to get factory bullets, cast pistol and rifle bullets are a good substitute. Expecially on the pistols, because of the slower muzzle velocity.

No Colt Trooper ever had a crane like that. It’s several steps lower than that.
