UNITED NATIONS — Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations who lost out in a bruising bid for the job of secretary of state, may have the last laugh.
Rice has emerged as far and away the front-runner to succeed Thomas E. Donilon as President Obama’s national security adviser later this year, according to an administration official familiar with the president’s thinking. The job would place her at the nexus of foreign-policy decision making and allow her to rival the influence of Secretary of State John F. Kerry in shaping the president’s foreign policy.

Read Susan Rice’s bio and you will see a garden variety silver spoon type who, despite occasional stretches overseas, has been raised in the kind of hermetically sealed liberal hothouse that has produced far too many of our ‘diplomats.’
They are unqualified to represent American interests at home or abroad because, put simply, they haven’t the first clue about those interests given their perpetual groupthink.
But even if she were George S. Patton reincarnate in terms of outlooks, her demonstrated willingness to lie repeatedly on cue, on camera should disqualify her for any post.
Isn’t it ironic that gummint paper-shufflers are subjected to polygraphs about smoking grass in junior high while high-level State Dept officials are not only permitted, but encouraged to lie publicly when Americans die abroad?

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), a fierce good-government advocate, slammed President Obama on Thursday, saying he is behaving as if he is not accountable to Congress and the American people.
“The president has decided he doesn’t need Congress at all,” said Grassley, in a speech delivered from the Senate floor.
