Mark Kelly may not yet be a household name, but he’s the better or worse half of Gabby Giffords, and together with her is the public face of Americans for Responsible Solutions, a PAC funded by a Texas lawyer to ban assault rifles.
On FOX, Kelly said, “In 1934, we banned automatic weapons. You know, I argue the semi-automatic assault weapon with a high capacity magazine is just too dangerous to be on the street where criminals and terrorists and the mentally ill can easily get them.”
Unfortunately Kelly was also caught buying one of weapons too dangerous to be in the hands of mere civilians.
Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, Arizona.
It’s not surprising that Kelly was turned in buying the dreaded weapon of doom. As gun ownership becomes like homosexuality in the 90s, coming out as an opponent also means that you may be outed if you combine that with a penchant for guns.
Naturally Kelly has tried to spin his purchase of the AR-15 as some sort of move to get them off the street, “As I was leaving, I noticed a used AR-15. Bought that too. Even to buy an assault weapon, the background check only takes a matter of minutes. I don’t have possession yet but I’ll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do.”
So apparently Kelly has a plan to buy up all the assault rifles in America and turn them over to the Tuscon PD. I think that’s a little like Ron Paul’s plan to end slavery.
It’s a little hard to believe that Kelly is running a one-man gun buyback program. It’s more likely that he got caught not practicing what he preached.
There’s nothing wrong with gun ownership, but Kelly now has a career being an anti-gun zealot. And to be an anti-gun zealot, you have to live your life gun-free.
There has been talk of Mark Kelly running for Giffords seat and that talk comes from liberal media outlets. To do that, he would have to squeeze out Ron Barber, the Democrat currently in there, but considering that Giffords’ district trended somewhat right, and that Barber, even with the cloak of being the aide of the saintly martyr Gabby Giffords who was also wounded in the shooting spree only won a narrow victory, it’s possible.
But Democrats may not be as enamored of him now after he got caught in flagrante delicto with an AR-15.
Well, he is your typical liberal, so what’s the big deal?
I guess he proved his point. So which is he? A criminal, a terrorist or mentally ill? Or all three?
One thing for sure, he’s a hypocritical a—hole.
Well, now that you put it that way... :o)
Liberals are hypocrites?! Say it ain’t so!
What I would like to know is has Mark Kelly ever bought a hammer, plastic sheeting and adult diapers all in the same shopping trip?
It’s a requirement for liberals to be hypocrites.
That punk owes an apology to Palin. He also needs to stop using his wife as a sock puppet.
It appears Mr. Kelly just admitted to a straw purchase.
Hey Mr. Holder, isn’t that a felony?
Under collectivism, Party members are exempt from the law. Only the masses have to do what they are told.
It’s that whole equality thing, you see.
What worries me is that he may have been sent out there by the progs to start the ball rolling for a ‘buy and turn in’ strategy....with BIG money behind it. We need to get crackin’, folks.
He needs one - - but you don’t.
Looks like America wasted a ton of money on this astrohat.
I am saddened that some left loon shot your wife but to hold me and my rights accountable is outrageous.
I wish to exempt your right from Amendment 3-14. OK?
There’s not much left to buy out there. If they want to spend their money buying guns and destroying them that’s the free market. Less money for Progressive election campaigns.
If he didn’t state his intention to give the firearms to
LEOs on the ATF form he committed a felony!
So Mr. Kelly do you believe in gun purchase laws or not?
True....but the Fedzilla seems to be buying ammunition left and right. Thus putting a further strain on the market.
Kelly is a clown and I don’t mean Emmett. He’s a regular Obama ring kisser.
He needs to shut up and fly. Preferably transfer him to the Russian space program so he’s out of our hair. He’s another hypocrite like John Glenn of firearms. Flying his Sabre Jet, John Glenn used a tandem of six machine guns to blow apart the poor, unfortunate North Korean (maybe Soviet?) pilots in Korea as Kelly used missiles and bombs to harm those poor Iraqis in Desert Storm. B-P Maybe we can send Kelly to Uranus, that’s where he belongs. He’s just another on a long list of busybodies that think that know it all and want to control us.
he was just showing us how easy it is for mentally ill people to purchase assault weapons for an upcoming 60 Minutes expose. /sarc
I would love to know how he answered 11a on his 4473.
Did he commit a straw purchase? I bet he did. Ass clown.
Are the manufacturers able to meet the demand?
Let’s see if the NRA or GOA notifies the ATF that this man is attempting
to purchase firearms under false pretenses and see
If the ATF denies the transaction?
Any NRA board members reading this?
At least he’s not turning it over to the Los Angeles Police and Amnesty Department for them to use to shoot up trucks of people that look nothing like Christopher Dorner.
I hope his ignorance buries him deep so that this boil on the backside of gun owners everywhere is never heard from again.
Just another liberal hypocrite.
I am laughing and loving it.
I heard Kelly the other day claiming to be pro-gun but encouraging “responsible” gun control (IOW, the man speaks BS).
Every liberal and their brother (or sister) will say/do the same thing: “guns for ME, but NOT for THEE!”
Hypocrit, thy name is liberalism!!
Most of the suppliers to the gov are already gov contractors I think. In any case, those orders for billions of rds are for a ten year period or more and most of it hasn’t been manufactured yet much less delivered. On top of that civilians already own trillions (not billions) of rds of ammo and the makings of ammo. It is civilian demand that has put a crimp on retail supplies.
But what I was wondering is the whole gun/ammunition shortage was intentionally exarcerbated by the administrarion (never let a crisis go to waste) to create a shortage. Like Cloward/Piven.
He did say, apparently, that the background check “took a matter of minutes” yet clearly left without a rifle “I don’t have possession yet”. This means either the background check did NOT take “a matter of minutes” or he was turned down.
And while we’re at it - Lets make sure he is turned down for it. Can we call a hotline or something and report that there is someone in his household with “Severe mental distress” ?
And when they ask what kind of distress, we can say either “Liberalism” or “Physical”.
For 5.56, ATK (Federal Ammunition) has an order queue that will take three years to fill. I’m sure Wolf is in a similar predicament. If I were Federal, once the House makes it clear there will be no new AWB (and they will); I’d be building another factory.
The Second Amendment: It ain’t rocket science.
He’s getting his ass handed to him on his facebook pages
Feel free to post a comment!
“Maybe we can send Kelly to Uranus...”
Make sure it’s Ur-Anus and not My-Anus... :)
He is an admitted straw purchaser. (for the Tucson PD)
A bit of help, pls. I have not ever seen an AR-15. In what sense is it an assault rifle? Is it capable of fully automatic fire? Are mind games beging played for nefarious purpose?
No gun they are talking about is capable of full-auto fire. No gun covered by the Clinton AWB was capable of full-auto fire. All full-auto guns were regulated by the 1934 Firearms Act and further by the ‘68 and ‘86 Firearms Acts. They have never been called “assault weapons” in U.S. law either.
What a scumbag.
Bumped (and keep bumping it folks!)
The reason most gunowners’ lips curl when we hear or read the term “assault rifle” is because it is a rhetorical device. An “assault” is a bad thing, right? And especially if committed with a rifle!
They say ‘pro-choice’ and we say ‘baby killers, as an example. These are civilian versions of military carbines, but are only semi-automatic.
But ‘carbine’ doesn’t sound as scary as ‘assault rifle.’ The military doesn’t call its fully automatic versions ‘assault rifles’ I’m guessing because it sounds too, well, German: stuhrmgewehr. The term had its genesis in ... California, but most of you probably knew that or guessed it: the home of screwballs like Senator Fineswine and this chrome-dome,
leading ineluctably to the question we’re all pondering: What color is this douche going to dye his head for Easter?
First, what's an anti-gun zealot doing in a gun shop?
Probably hoping to entrap some $10 an hour store clerk into making some kind of omission or error in the gun selling transaction.
Was he using recording devices?
Was he trying to talk the clerk into doing something illegal?
I'm sure the Hard Left MSM will be all over that angle.
Second, if he plans to turn the gun over to the Police, why bother with any paperwork.
Buy the gun, tell the store to deliver it to the TPD, end of story.
Again, this guy is deliberately lying for some reason.
It's still the exact same rifle (still only one bullet fires at a time when you pull the trigger) with a few after market add on parts that simply make it look different!
It's like adding an after market spoiler package to a car.
Are mind games beging played for nefarious purpose?
Of course they are! Plain and simple...disarmament is the aim and the goal!
