Upstate Counties Lead Opposition to NY SAFE Act
Pundit Press ^ | March, 9th, 2013 | Timothy Knight

Ever since its hurried and likely unconstitutional passage into law, the NY SAFE Act has faced considerable opposition from supporters of the second amendment in various forms: seven thousand marched on Albany, scores of lawsuits have been filed questioning its legality, and dozens of county governments have supported anti-SAFE Act resolutions.

In fact, forty of sixty-two county governments within the State of New York have passed laws opposing the SAFE Act and calling for a repeal of its most egregious parts: such as limiting magazine capacity to 7 rounds, prohibiting the ownership of "assault weapons," and even limiting how many firearms you may posses to five under vague specifics.

I happen to live in Schoharie County, one of the earliest opponents of the NY SAFE act which passed our resolution opposing Governor Cuomo's signature law by a fifteen to one margin, and there will be a protest against the law on Saturday, March 16th, 1 PM in beautiful downtown Schoharie and all who support our cause should come down in support.

Don’t forget NY, CA, MA, CT and PA are trying to force gun owners to carry liability insurance.

It’s about making it harder to own a gun, vilifying gun owners and making so many laws that people are afraid to own a firearm.

Afraid, or just harassed to the point where they decide it isn’t worth it.

I no longer accept the dominion of Fidel Cuomo or the NYS legislature with respect to firearms. I am now a sovereign individual and will not comply with their dictates.

Andrew Cuomo is as dumb as his father. It is congenital stupidity

In CT on the CT Public network I watched some committee on gun violence yesterday at the capital.
Wow these people are dangerous ,have no idea what infringe means and obviously have no respect for the constitution.
There was some AH named Bernard Sullivan,an x police chief and he was the worst of the bunch
Everything they pushed was unconstitutional and they were just going on and on reinforcing each others proposals.Every proposal elimintaed and or hindered law abiding gun owners rights and make some people criminals overnight.

Not one member supports any thing to do with gun ownwerhip.I had to shut it off it was sickening. It was and is a perfect example of Control not gun control Members of the CT Gun Grab Commission:

Chairman Scott Jackson, mayor of Hamden, Conn.

Adrienne Bentman, director of the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program at Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living.

Ron Chivinski, a teacher at Newtown Middle School.

Robert Ducibella, founding principal of DVS Security Consulting and Engineering.

Terry Edelstein, the governor's liaison to non-profit organizations.

Kathleen Flaherty, a lawyer who works with the National Alliance for Mental Illness in Connecticut.

Alice Forrester, executive director of the Clifford W. Beers Guidance Clinic.

Ezra Griffith, senior research scientist at Yale University's Department of Psychiatry.

Patricia Keavney-Maruca , a member of the state board of education and a former technical high school teacher.

Christopher Lyddy, a former state legislator who represented Newtown who is a consultant on stress and trauma.

Denis McCarthy, Norwalk, Conn., fire chief.

Barbara O'Connor, University of Connecticut director of public safety.

Wayne Sandford, a professor at the University of New Haven's Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences and former deputy commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management & Homeland Security.

David Schonfeld, the director of the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement and a professor at the University of Cincinnati Department of Pediatrics.

Harold Schwartz, chief psychiatrist at Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living.

Bernard Sullivan, former Hartford police chief and former commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety.

Mega “resistance to tyranny is obedience to God” dittos from occupied NY. Granted, I live in the country, but the folks are not taking this lying down. King Andrew will have to come and get ‘em.

PS Second meeting of the newly formed United Gun Owners of New York State TOMORROW, Mar 10 at the South Seneca Sportsman’s Club in Ovid, NY, 2pm. BE THERE if you CARE about your rights and want to do this peacefully now, instead of non-peacefully later. We are organizing and making our position WELL-KNOWN. This law in un-Constitutional and should be shunned along with King Andrew and Prince Nanny Bloomberg.

Gonna make Prohibition look like 'honorable mention'...
These idiots obviously have 'selective vision' and choose to notsee (pun intended) the guns & ammo flying off the shelves.

Guess they figure everyone buying just wanted to be part of the 'in crowd' & have something to turn in...

King Andrew does not rule me, nor my family, nor my compatriots. I do not recognize King Andrew’s right to tell me how many guns I may have, how many rounds I can load in my ten round magazines, how much water I can flush, or what light bulbs I must use. Prince Bloomberg does not rule me nor does he have the power to tell me how big my soda may be. When did our public servants get the idea that they RULED over us? Some are in need of a serious ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT.

Commissar Cuomo is just another Hugo Chavez wannabe.

About the only differences are he doesn't wear a red beret and speak Spanish.

Beedy eyed “son of sfachime” thinks he is more than what he really is. It’s a shame that in any state plagued by these ruinous rats we find people who are held captive by dictators

No wonder some Upstate NYers want to dump NYC, and NYC should take Cuomo with them.

Some good news is that a state rep in MA has let us know that Patrick’s attempt at vicious gun-grabbing will not become law in MA. Outside of Libtards in Boston and Amherst, MA remains a very gun-friendly state.
