New O’Keefe Video: Cops Say ‘You’re On Your Own’ Without Gun
pj Media ^ | March 6th, 2013 | J. Christian Adams

James O’Keefe’s latest video shows the ugly truth: if you don’t own a gun, you are on your own. In the video, he goes into police stations (predominately in the anti-gun Northeast) and collects a shocking harvest of responses from officers about how the police have no ability to protect them.

Traffic and time prevent effective responses to 911 calls. O’Keefe’s undercover protagonist pushes the issue, “well, how am I supposed to protect my family if I don’t have a gun?”

That is IF they can even get there, as the video suggested!

New O’Keefe Video: Cops Say ‘You’re On Your Own’ Without Gun

So...get a gun. What's to not understand? Get a gun...learn how to use it. No big deal. Legal or not...just do it. Argue with the knuckleheads later...if necessary. At least you will be around to do it.

Where I live, the only police are the State Police, and they don't want to come back in the hills where I live unless they really have to. And then it's guaranteed to be a wait.

And I’m sure it’s a very long wait as well.

Legal or not...?

They would be delighted for one to commit a felony thereby ensuring a lifetime gun-free.

This thread needs this important sidenote imo. One court has already decided, and I agree, that there is no constitutional right (my term) to police services.
Warren v. District of Columbia

The 2nd Amendment arguably clarifies that citizens their own police force.

Critiques welcome.

The fat cops sitting behind their desks munching donuts don't seem too worried about what you can until they get there - as long as you don't do it with a gun.

Why should they? After all, they get paid for drawing chalk lines, stringing yellow tape, taking reports, testifying in court, putting in their shifts, and (who knows?) maybe eventually even "solving" your crime - or maybe not... probably not. They don't get paid to protect you. They aren't even required to respond to your pleas for help.

If you want protection and aren't allowed to carry or possess a gun, hire a body guard service. That's what your politicians do - except they pay for them with YOUR tax money.

Sweet deal if you can get it.

Those in Ny and other places should not move south, we should drive Fidel Cuomo and his ilk underground.

Call the Police and report your house on fire.

Response time is a lot quicker, the Fire Department doesn’t wait for backup and they don’t shoot your dog.

You are correct. At the time of the Founding there weren’t organized police forces as we know them today. They evolved from the old constable/sheriff system in the 19th Century. So, an Originalist would say there is no constitutional right to police protection.

Yeah, and just TRY to strike up a conversation with a police officer while you’re wearing or carrying a gun.

Unless you meet him at a shooting range, or you know the cop personally, you will usually not enjoy the encounter. Cops treat armed civilians as suspects first, citizens second.

(Pardon my broad generalizations but I find police to be exceedingly rude when it comes to armed civilians, even though they need our help more than they’re willing to admit.)

Didn’t need an undercover video. I’d have told you that straight up and in fact, did

Did you actually look at those fat cops? My guess is most of them would drop dead of heart attacks if they had to chase a perp 50 yards.

They are fat, slovenly, indifferent. Yes. They are typical donut munchers! Time servers, clock punchers, basically useless.
