No, it will be 22 days for her, that is a 20% pay cut Gross...more like 25% because insurance has to paid. Insurance only covers so much for her kid, so she is in a jam. And she is just one story, and I know her. What amazes me about FR lately is the anger. The bitterness. The caustic atmosphere. It appears some FReepers cannot tell the difference between Barry Hussein and a single, low pad mom. Both are equally treated with venom because someone told them that is what the script says. then you get the: “Well! I had it worse!” Stories, as if two wrongs make a right. Let me ask them: how many sarcastic FR threads were posted that danced the jig when you were laid off? None, huh? In fact, all here were supportive. Now, we have nurses, engineers, scientists, DoD teachers, electricians, logisticians, cops, firefighters, and welders getting furloughed with the Sequester, and it is nothing but venom, spit, mocking, and false self- righteousness. Interesting, I always thought this was a Conservative, Judeo-Christian website. I guess it, like times, have changed.

Really, please tell me where I listed you or your friend as a "moocher." I said that you don't give a damn that the rest of us have already been dealing with the furloughs, pay cuts and hour-shortages for FOUR DAMN YEARS!

I am sorry that your friend will have more hardships, but you being pissed at me and other Conservatives because the US President is effing her over is about as IGNORANT as anyone can get!

Get over yourself - we all pay taxes! And the US Government needs to go on a diet, whether you like it or not. And even some of the Defense Department needs to eat a little less! I am sorry that people are getting hurt, but that is what happens when the Government builds-up like there is no tomorrow. Welcome to reality! People lose jobs, companies downsize, people get pay-cuts; sooner or later, that's gonna INCLUDE the government!

I guess in your sick "logic", only the DOD workers should get never ending pay raises, wonderful pensions and paid vacations. Incredible, just incredible!

Sky pilot, I am concerned about your friend. These are hard times and we the people are paying for the lack of budget responsibility. Look at the various countries whose citizens went to the streets when cuts were made. Yea, these groups are made up of individuals. But, we need to ride this out. Be support to your friend. Find out where her struggles are and see how she can handle this crisis. It sounds like she is full of anxiety over this. Being upset about an impending situation doesn’t help matters. It only adds to the stress. She needs to sit down and figure out her finances by period. Sometimes it helps to write it down than to just view a problem as a whole. Take each pay period as it comes, maybe a small loan from her tsp if all he’ll breaks loose. But, this isn’t going to last long, I don’t believe so at all.

White House tours represent non-essential government spending. If we save money not doing those tours, then I’m not gonna cry over some schoolkids not getting a tour of the White House.

I want the government OUT of the business of paying for non-essential items. In fact if you were to have categories called essential, supportive, and frivolous, White House tours would be in the frivolous spending category.

Along comes Fox News and offers MORE money to take these tours, and that ties in exactly with Obama’s message that he needs MORE money (more TAXES).

Dumb stunt by Bolling to give Obama a talking point that suggests more money is needed.

When FOX News Channel or Hannity agree to pay for a week's lost pay due to the Sequester for a low paid single mother I know who works for the DoD and has a child with severe medical issues, let me know.

Rep Gohmert is becoming one of my favorite Texas representatives. Unfortunately, he’s not in my district so I can support him, but I love the fact that he is a constant pain in zero’s nasty butt!

His amendment probably won’t go anywhere, but I’d love it if it did. Even though I know it would never happen, I have this great fantasy of zero getting felt up by the TSA as he boards a commercial flight to go play golf somewhere. Then, they decide to confiscate half the contents of his golf bag because it’s all contraband!

Oh, well, I can dream, can’t I?
