A fascinating story, even more so because survivors actually remembered his grandfathers death. May God bless those who fall in the defense of liberty.

Fleming based his James Bond character on one of the double agents he was assigned to shadow — Dusko Popov.

Oh, there’s a myriad of men he based it on, probably he took a bit here, a bit there. And voila, James Bond.

Not only Popov, but men like Patrick Dalziel-Job, Tom Lethbridge and others.
