Rand Paul: The Feds claim they can drone strike you when having dinner
Politico ^ | KEVIN CIRILLI

Posted on 03/06/2013 7:37:15 AM PST by JohnPDuncan

Sen. Rand Paul blasted Attorney General Eric Holder’s announcement that drone strikes could be carried out on U.S. soil under extreme circumstances, with the Kentucky Republican suggesting that means Americans could be killed while they’re “eating dinner” or “at a cafe.”

“The thing about the drone strike program is we’re not talking about someone’s actively attacking America — we’re not talking about planes flying into the World Trade Center,” Paul said on Fox News on Tuesday. “What we’re talking about is you’re eating dinner in your house, you’re eating at a cafe or you’re walking down the road.”

He continued: “That’s when these drone strikes can occur. It’s not about people involved in combat — it’s about people who they think might be.”

On Tuesday, Holder responded to a letter Paul and other senators had sent inquiring about whether the government could use drones domestically.

“The question you have posed is entirely hypothetical, unlikely to occur, and one we hope no President will ever have to confront,” Holder responded.

When you add this to it:

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/05/Homeland-Security-Drones-Designed-To-Identify-Civilians-Carrying-Guns

And add to this the information that Homeland Security is purchasing 2,700 armoured vehicles identical to what our troops have in Afghanistan and the direction in which our nation is going is plain to see.

Homeland Security is going to be the downfall of freedom as we have known it and Napolitano is the wicked witch who will accelerate its implementation.

Homeland Security should be de-funded immediately.

If there is a federal gun ban could they use drones to take out people practicing their natural rights who are carrying self defense devices?

Seeing what happens when the police “accidentally” break into the “wrong” house and blast the old man with at TV remote into the next world, and then apologize to the family and get away with murder, when a federal drone “accidentally” kills innocent citizens they’ll be told go $h!t in a hat.

When a “government” expresses the “right” to kill citizens, absent due process, that “government” ceases to be legitimate and itself becomes a target of the citizens.

What is a terrorist?

One who is a danger to the government and the populace.

All they have to do is decide someone is that.

Bam...Zap.

Danger no more.

If you want to really be scared out of your wits, read the following statement from wikipedia which is retrieved when you google “what is the definition of terrorist”.

There is neither an academic nor an international legal consensus regarding the definition of the term “terrorism”.[1][2] Various legal systems and government agencies use different definitions of “terrorism”. Moreover, the international community has been slow to formulate a universally agreed upon, legally binding definition of this crime. These difficulties arise from the fact that the term “terrorism” is politically and emotionally charged.[3]

So bottom line: There is no cut and dried definition, it is whatever you want to make of it.

It is whatever you want to make of it.

Now that is scary when you consider what we have in the white house, what we have as attorney general and that Napolitano is completely mad.

No need to worry now, someone will be coming along soon to tell you that this is just a routine purchase by the government, and you are just being paranoid, and you have nothing to fear from big brother (uh, I mean the government). If a conspiracy theorist can dream something up, that means that someone in government has already done a study on it, weighed and measured it, and wrote a report on it. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, and don’t fall into the mis-information trap.

The legislature controls the spending of the DHS. Outrage from our elected representatives over what the DHS purchases and what it may be used for and whom it will be used against is the sworn job of the legislators.

Co-equal branches with checks and balances has not been replaced by two HMNIC's. (Head marxist n.....as in charge)

I guess those spending bills had to be passed to find out what was in them too.

How progressives, liberals, and other merry bands of utopian quest squads can square their ideology with the actual deeds of this administartion is impossible.

Are they even awake? Don't they see what's coming? What's next? A federal used tire disposal system involving a crowd, a can of kerosene, match, and a tire stand with views they don't share?

Do they realize this is their hero building the death squads before their eyes?

This probably won’t get much attention here from the lower case “free” Republic types. They respect power.

as do most of us, the fraud in WH makes the entire government illegitimate. They know we know that and that clearly is why they want cart blanch authority to kill us for the sake of their own security.

And that $50,000,000 spent on TSA uniforms on the eve of sequestration had to originate in legislative budget authority as well.

I have to pay each week for my work uniform rental. I suggest legislation coming up enjoy an amendment or rider which requires TSA workers pay the $12 per week for the rental of our $50,000,000 worth of uniforms. They are our property not theirs. If they don't like it, go work in the private sector.

Billy Bob T., Yuma, Az.

I was about to tee off at the 15th at Egypt Valley when my Drone Alert(c) went off. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I dropped my cell phone in the TSA agent's cart that was playing thru. I have to say the visuals were quite stunning when that missile hit his cart at the dog leg. I ended up having to lay up and use a long Iron to reach the green in two because of the added hazard.
