Members of the Congressional Black Caucus said Monday night that the $85 billion in cuts to federal spending known as the sequester will disproportionately affect blacks and other minorities, in part because they are more likely to work for the government.
"Sequestration will impact everyone, but it will have a particularly harmful effect on communities of color who were hit first and worst by the great recession, and have yet to significantly feel the effects of the recovery," Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) said Monday.
"Federal budget cuts under sequestration would quickly mean cuts to federal, state and local public sector jobs, which disproportionately employ women and African Americans."

So here are some obvious questions the butt kissers in the media should be asking: If the sequester hurts blacks and females more, then why did Obama come up with the plan in the first place, and why do Democrats support it? Further: If the sequester hurts blacks and females more, why do Republicans oppose it? After all, the Republicans hate the little people.
They voted for the idiot in charge who wanted this...it's only right that they get hurt by the idiot's policies..

The bigger question and issue is why do minorities and women hold most of the Government jobs?

Everything hurts blacks, women, gay people, and children the most. If the left insists on mandatory gun registration, the right should say this will hurt blacks the most. Ha!!!
In any case, Barack Obama is a Dem and the Senate were Democratic when sequestration passes so not too sure what to make of that comment. The deal was the GOP would agree to raise the debt ceiling if the Dems agreed to spending cuts. Obama decided on sequestration instead of many other ways to go...he can still choose other ways to do spending cuts.
I often hear that the GOP forced Obama to make spending cuts by using the debt ceiling as a leaver (as if that was something sinister). This country is not run by a dictator. The House of Reps has every right to force a deal before they agree to do anything...just as the President (and the Senate) has the right to do the same. This is not sinister. This is how our government works. In any case, Barack Obama came up with this crappy plan and the GOP unfortunately signed onto it believing a more sensible deal could be achieved down the road. Boy, did they learn Obama is no kind of man to shake hands with. I’m glad they’ve decided to just do business with the Senate as a matter of normal business and to forget about Obama. My guess is the Senate Dems aren’t that impressed with Obama either. He’s all whine and speechifying and no actual work...unless you count gofing as work.
