American Conservative Union Chair: Legalize Illegal Aliens
Cybercast News Service ^ | March 4, 2013 | Michael W. Chapman

American Conservative Union Chairman Al Cardenas said he supported a bipartisan Senate effort at immigration reform, stressing that the proposal must include a way for an estimated 11 million illegal aliens to “come out of the shadows” and be given “a legal status where they can be secure in this country for their future and that of their children.”

Cardenas made his remarks on the Spanish-language Telemundo show Enfoque on Sunday, noting that immigration is an issue he plans to stress at the upcoming Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., which opens next week. …

When asked what is the American Conservative Union’s “position with regard to immigration reform?” Cardenas said, “We are in support, and I’ve shared my opinion in editorials throughout the country, in support of the principles put forth by the group of eight senators—a bipartisan group—four Democratic senators and four Republicans, including two Hispanics, Senator Bob Menendez and Senator Marco Rubio. We support those measures, we are in support of a law, which is imminent to be filed in the Senate, and we are hopeful that the House would also take a similar tack.” …

All one has to do is look up the ACU board of directors and will quickly come to the conclusion that the ACU is anything but conservative, and CPAC is designed as a cover event to co-opt conservatives into the GOPe fold. Just another smoke and mirrors D.C. K Street production.

Oh, come on. Cardenas is hispanic. To him, ethnicity trumps all. If 80% of the illegals in this country were Scandinavian he’d be demanding their arrest and deportation.

I truly, truly hope that every one of these pro-amnesty bastards is granted the fate of having their dearest loved one brutally run over and rendered a bloody pulp by a drunk-driving illegal alien. Just like what has happened to more than one of my friends and neighbors.

This ACU Chairman can go burn in hell.

All one has to do is look up the ACU board of directors and will quickly come to the conclusion that the ACU is anything but conservative...

Are you sure? Jim Lacy, Alan Gottlieb, Morton Blackwell, Thomas Winter and Jeff Bell are solid conservatives and long-time activists, although there are several names on the board with which I am unfamiliar.

Two things, one we are in charge and two, when we forget that we are in charge, we become part of the problem. I include myself in that statement.

I buy products and services every day and never give e-verify a thought. I have seen one company post an e-verify notice on their door, Boston Market. All others, who knows.

Best guess is they do not use e-verify because the participation rate is in the low single digits.

How much pressure have they received from consumers? None.
I have checked the NumbersUSA database. I found one business that I patronize, my trash company.

I checked landscape businesses. There was not a single entry. No surprise there.

So how about we exercise the power of the purse and tell the businesses we patronize, we want them to use e-verify.

Ask your lawn service if they use e-verify, if they say no, then fire them. Are you going to be able to find a lawn service that does use e-verify? Probably not. But if they get enough requests, one of them will wise up and clean up.

That is what I mean by having the power. Control where your money goes to pressure businesses to sign up for e-verify.

If you don’t say anything then you are part of the problem. If businesses feel economic pressure to sign up, they will. If it becomes tougher to find work, then more illegal aliens will self-deport.

It’s not a perfect solution but it is heading in the right direction.

They have a “status” in their own countries. Throw them the hell out. If they ever vote republican, the democrats will throw them out.

So you don’t believe that employers should be able to hire the best fit for the job? Whatever happened to free enterprise?

“We support those measures, we are in support of a law” says Cardenas.

The essence of the illegal alien problem is that illegals are in violation of the law.

The convoluted logic of these RINOs whereby they will create another law to reward those who in turn break the law is amazing.

The Republicans have already lost the 2014 elections as long as the Cardenas, Roves, Rubios, and McCains are at the top.

Where does it say that employers are required to enforce immigration laws in the constitution?

You either believe in constitutional government, or you do not. Which is it?
