The House's top Republican reiterated on Sunday that he will look at any gun control measures passed by the Senate.
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he has "made clear if the Senate acts on gun control legislation, the House will consider it."
"But we need to look at more than just guns. We need to look at violence in our society. You know, we've got a violent society," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Boehner said lawmakers need to examine how to stop people with mental illnesses from obtaining firearms.

On issues about their well being, the demo-licans always vote themselves first. They prefer to stay out of the long reach of the populace for sure.
They called me for money the other day. Told them to get stuffed and that (until they start representing liberty and conservatism) they won’t be getting another dime from me. Mind you....I haven’t given to the RNC (collectively) for a loooooong time. I’ve given to individual campaigns.
Can you point me to some information about DHS and these tanks? This is the first I have heard of this.
It’s getting to where every day there’s another damn thing to worry about, as there doesn’t seem to be any way to actually do anything about it.

This is the new strategy for 2013, and frankly it is better than whatever they did the past two years. The House stuck their neck out with good legislation and good budgets...none of which sees the light of day in the Senate. The result...the House got blamed. Now, the House leadership basically is saying ‘the Senate can act, and we’ll talk about it when they produce legislation’. The onus is getting the Senate to take the bullets...and particularly the Democrats from red states to have either buck their party of buck their voters in a vote like this.
I am comfortable with this, because I doubt anything substantial will get through the Senate legislatively on gun control, and if it does, our side can still vote it down. We’ll see.
