..Female tourist left bloody and distraught after being brutally attacked by woman...in Times Square
UK Daily Mail ^ | March 1, 2013

A neatly dressed tourist taking pictures in Times Square was caught off guard when a visibly agitated woman blocked her path and then attacked her.

The 34-year-old long-haired blonde woman was walking with a friend and photographing their surroundings with a point-and-shoot camera when the aggravated passer-by confronted her and stood in her way.

The confrontation at West 46th Street and Broadway, across the street from a Forever 21, led to a verbal exchange which quickly turned into a scuffle.

wow..looking at the pics its even more confusing. the attacker does not look like a thug(though she is one).

I would say she was on drugs and or has an anger problem( uh, kind of obvious.)

What’s the problem here? Doesn’t sound like she fit into one of the three acceptable victim groups: Latinos, Arabs, Blacks, or Queers.

Nothing to see here...

Could be random jealousy. The victim was seen as attractive, well-dressed, stylish and the attacker just the opposite.

I should have said: four acceptable victim groups. Please feel free to add any other PC victim's groups that I may have missed.

I’ll make this observation...but you have to realize...I spent sixteen years living in Germany and only returned to the US in 2010. I currently live and work in the DC region.

I’ve come back to find myself a stranger in a strange land. In the Arlington area where I live....it’s fair to say it’s safe. If I cross the river into DC? You run into crime and nuts.

Last year, I spent an entire Saturday walking around DC. There are probably 3k homeless folks that you might notice on any given day. I’d say a hundred of them are dangerous. I had some nut down by a museum who started yelling and screaming at me when I came within six feet of her. Down by the Navy memorial....I stood and watched some other homeless person yelling at passers-by. Cops? They do nothing.

I spent a day in New York City last year....and noted the same problems. Nuts everywhere, and on the verge of physical aggression. The cops do nothing, until it’s too late.

There’s probably several hundred thousand Americans who ought to be locked up....for the safety of everyone else. The authorities? They do nothing....until it’s too late.

I noticed a week ago that New York City is talking of cleaning up the subway areas of the nuts. They say they apprehend, and force a mental test onto the people. I’m waiting to see if they really have the guts.

There’s a problem here, but no one cares much.

The world can be divided into 10 groups: those who understand the binary system, and those who do not.

My first thought too, especially after reading she's got rap sheets in multiple states for similar behavior.

In one photo (at the bottom), there appears to be a boot and perhaps a small bottle of mouthwash. A homeless person?

Well, I confess I didn’t watch the video.

But I spent a lot of time in New York. Most of the time, it’s perfectly fine, if you stay out of the bad areas.

But there are certain rules. Don’t look strangers in the eye. If some jerk comes down the sidewalk and refuses to give ground, then give ground yourself. Don’t get into arguments with crazies.

Sounds like this tourist broke a couple of these rules. Don’t let strangers provoke you to anger or pick a fight with you. If you argue or fight back, even if you win, what have you won, beating up a stranger?

Just back off. Don’t get involved.

The world is already starting to bypass the USA, for tourism and business. Your scenarios are part of the reason. TSA bullying is another. Our irresponsible government is yet another.

I'm as libertarian as anybody, but it has been proven over and over again that humans can't live in large cities without firm-handed - even fascist-looking - local policing. Granting the same liberties to the indigent and mentally ill that are granted to fully functioning adults is just like letting children play near the freeway. Rudy Giuliani and Lee Kwan Yew showed us the way.

I'll give it about ten more years before the world economy reroutes itself around the USA so completely as to render us virtually irrelevant. Rather than Brazil, we are turning into another Russia - a Third World country with corrupt public officials, a dysfunctional public economy, a thriving black market, and a huge, powerful military.

So, some nut comes all the way from Tacoma Washington, to attack a tourist in Times Square.

From the article the attacker has been in trouble with the law several times before. She needs to be in the care of mental health authorities.

There’s a problem and the answer is concealed carry. No gun zones are the problem. Europeans live in a bubble and need to be forewarned that the North American Continent is one big Disneyland for strangers.
