The Democratic Party believes that it owns the African-American vote, and it also looks to women for much of its support. This support requires serious reconsideration. The Colorado Democratic Party, as represented by State Rep. Joe Salazar, has said openly that women are too mentally unstable to handle firearms responsibly.
"There are some gender inequities on college campuses, this is true, and universities have been faced with that situation for a long time. It's why we have call boxes, it's why we have safe zones, it's why we have the whistles. Because you just don't know who you're going to be shooting at. And you don't know if you feel like you're going to be raped, or if you feel like someone's been following you around or if you feel like you're in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop, pop a round at somebody."
Salazar has therefore said unequivocally that women lack the mental capacity to distinguish between Condition Orange and Condition Red (the terms used by Colonel Jeff Cooper and Front Sight), or between bare fear and reasonable fear (Masaad Ayoob). Condition Orange or bare fear refers to a perceived threat, as might happen when a stranger walks up and asks if he can "borrow" a dollar, or a woman "feels like" somebody has been following her around. You cannot draw a weapon on somebody in Condition Orange, or out of bare fear. Only under Condition Red, or with reasonable fear, can you draw a weapon. Salazar has said for the record that the female brain is not capable of making this distinction and will therefore "pop out that gun and you pop, pop a round at somebody."

Where's the media on this?? If a Republican said it...it would be news...
To be perfectly fair to these guys, (which I'm not really all that interested in being), their opinion is not gender-based. They don't think men can handle firearms responsibly either.
Well, if they want to go by the crime stats,
prohibiting minorities from owning guns WOULD reduce “gun crimes”...
I wouldn’t advocate it, but if that’s where they want to go...
A rational person would certainly review support for people like Salazar, but the low-information voters are not rational. He'll still get a lot of votes from folks voting with their "lady parts."
What weird logic was used in coming to this conclusion? Women are “too unstable” to carry or use sidearms? Why have they been admitted for consideration for combat duty, then?
And as for Americans of African descent, why are they less deserving of self-protection than other Americans? Legally purchased firearms are rarely used in the commission of crimes, and even in those instances, the circumstances are almost always without the permission of the legal owner. A child or other occupant of the household has taken the weapon with malice aforethought, and used it inappropriately, or it had been stolen while not in the possession of the legal owner.
The real danger is of those guns obtained by persons, either not capable or eligible, and being used in street crime, not the ones sold through the existing approved channels. Theft of the weapon from the lawful owner is compounded only slightly by its use in the commission of a crime, and the resale or transfer of such a weapon to a person not capable or eligible is another crime of its own. WE ALREADY HAVE LAWS THAT ADDRESS THESE SITUATIONS. But in most instances, these laws are ignored or not being enforced.
The use of a firearm in the commission of a crime should be a mandatory reclassification of the crime to a much more aggravated assault, and subject to much more severe penalties than mere threats without the use of a firearm involved.
I’ve said for a long time that gun control advocates stand should-to-shoulder with the Klan.
The Republicans should run info ads on the real history of gun control.
To my dying day I will never understand why Jews, Blacks, and Latinos allow themselves to be bullied by the dhimmicratics. The LAST thing the dhimmis are doing is looking out for their interests.
Re: “What weird logic was used in coming to this conclusion? Women are too unstable to carry or use sidearms?” Ask Joe Salazar, it is his opinion.
“And as for Americans of African descent, why are they less deserving of self-protection than other Americans?” Ask the Philadelphia Democrats who are repackaging racist 19th century Negro disarmament laws for re-sale in the 21st.
But it's what white America sees - out of control inner cities, violent gangs and despair, That image of blacks is then hushed by liberals ... and whites run from blacks... If honest law biding blacks could take back their neighborhoods from the thugs, gangs and poverty pimps (who reward inappropriate behavior) there could be hope. Much of that hope rests on citizens being able to defend themselves. Black citizens should have that right. It'll happen when 'gun control' is fought... successfully.
Re: “ If honest law biding blacks could take back their neighborhoods from the thugs, gangs and poverty pimps (who reward inappropriate behavior) there could be hope. Much of that hope rests on citizens being able to defend themselves.”
I recall a political cartoon in which a white man who is walking through a bad neighborhood speeds up to get away from a black man who is following him. The black man thinks, “I wish that white guy would slow down. This is a bad neighborhood, and we will be safer if we walk together,”
Here’s something that apparently hasn’t been noticed: the ergonomics of AR-15 carbines for women. The length of pull can be adjusted to be shorter. Surely, at least some of you have noticed that most women tend to reach too far toward the forearm and exhibit poor posture while firing a hunting rifle. That, for the most part, is caused by a length of pull (length of butt stock) that is too long for them. AR-15 carbines are also easier to support, as anyone has more leverage for supporting such a rifle (pistol grip, elbow for hand guard bent more, etc.).
That’s a major way that so-called assault weapons bans inhibit women’s abilities to defend themselves—something that should have been brought up in testimony in Congress and in the legislatures of states.
Comment: However, wonder if not withstanding the source of the contention, the underlying thesis reflected reality? The thesis is capable of study both empirical and academic.
The bond that matters isn’t color - never was - never will be... It’s people - good people can stand together against thugs... and win.
