That is because that is where the fault for losing our culture lies. Liberty as bequeathed to us from our patriarchs, IS, a Biblical/Christian construct. It was only able to be maintained BY a vibrant Christian faith in the country that would safeguard it.
We are in the mess we are in because WE Christians FAILED to uphold the culture and fight for it when it mattered. Not even to preserve God's Commandments was the wholesale church willing to stand - so don't try and tell me that I need to stop blaming Christians for where we have arrived.
God was willing to save Sodom & Gomorrah for only 10 righteous souls. We have millions of righteous, born again souls in America who do fight & pray & contribute & vote & participate.
Again, you mis-apply scripture. Sodom and Gomorrah were NOT cities of God's people, called by His Name. You would do better to look at the example of Ancient Israel - who WAS a nation called by His Name.
Once Israel became as we have become today - God sent Prophets to warn the people of coming destruction unless they repented and returned. Time and again Israel refused, becoming more corrupt than the Canaanite nations around her. And when the cup of iniquity was full - the ENTIRE NATION was destroyed and the remnant taken into slavery. The prophets and the righteous right along with the wicked.
The reason for that? God held them ALL LIABLE for upholding righteousness in the land. The fruits of our culture CONDEMN we Christians for our failure to keep the Commandments and walk in His way, and to demand and teach the rest of the nation do also.
Of course ancient Israel hated that message from prophets like Jeremiah same as you do. In fact, they stoned him to death - as well as every other prophet God sent to warn them of their sin and harbinger of judgment.
We are in the end times as described in II Tim 3, and Matt 24, and it will only get worse & worse. I just wish & pray that God would honor the faithfulness of those who are fighting the good fight.
Our reward is not physical, neither is He going to bless a nation that He is judging. Proverbs tells us plainly that God will LAUGH AT US in the day of our calamity, because we as a whole people refused to hear. After 9-11, we have no excuse before the Father for our deep slide into wickedness, until we are now become fully leavened with sin, and call righteousness evil.
It is an unpleasant truth - but it is the truth nonetheless. Too bad most refuse to hear it, and will stop up their ears and get angry at those whom are pointing out the truth.
Israel killed all those whom God sent to warn them, and those prophets were their own countrymen trying to save them from judgment and consequence. Will America repeat that same precedent?
I believe it will, and worse. Of course Matthew 24 lays that all out for us. For the Remnant will be dragged before the synagogues (churches) and charged - and turned over to be killed - thinking they do God service.
As perverted a nation as we have become, that horror is not as distant a possibility any longer. How many "christian churches" now openly celebrate homosexuality and perform homosexual marriages? Watch their militancy rise as morality is redefined IN THE CHURCH to match the culture.

Liberty was in our bosom to preserve, and as DeToqueville wrote - liberty existed in America because of our churches and a vibrant Christian life that was imbued in our culture. He wrote: "When America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great". Here we are.
Well than fix it yourself instead of railing against & blaming other Christians who are doing what they are able to do. You keep on railing against Christians. Why don’t you stand up and change the corrupt, satanic laws & court proceedings passed by an arrogant, impervious oligarchy of tyrants. These blackrobed tyrants could care less what you or I think, or whether we stand on courthouse steps. That won’t change their atrocious rulings by one iota. Everytime we score any victory, legislative or at the ballot box, it is likely to be overturned by atheistic, arrogant, prideful satanic judges. We could have used some Divine help & intervention along the way, to at lease give us a smidgeon of encouragement. The next step will be either the way of the gun or the Rapture.
