Christie's Medicaid decision draws praise across N.J.

Democratic lawmakers and advocacy groups praised Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to expand the state’s Medicaid program to cover tens of thousands of uninsured New Jerseyans on Tuesday, calling it a compassionate move that would help the state economy.

Although Christie emphasized he is "no fan of the Affordable Care Act," he said the move was "the smart thing to do for our fiscal and public health."

The decision by Christie —one of the better-known Republican governors to accept the program —is expected to save the state $227 million a year by enrolling 104,000 low-income people into the government health care program, beginning in January, he said.

"Accepting these federal resources will provide health insurance to tens of thousands of low-income New Jerseyans, help keep our hospitals financially healthy and actually save New Jersey taxpayers money," Christie said in his annual budget address in Trenton.

Is Christie rejecting the Obamacare "exchanges" idea?

I really believe a lot of this strutting around by the leftists, acting like Obama has "won" anything.

Really, the states are getting the feds to pay for a state run program, AND forcing the feds to pay for "exchanges"....something the Kenyan Clown didn't think would happen!

On principle, I am 100% against increased federal spending. The politics of the situation, sadly, make it more pragmatic to take the funding until the bills come to the states.

Yes, I KNOW it all comes from "our money"....the sickening reality is that if the funding isn't accepted, these states will elect governors even worse than these guys.

And now the states that haven`t accepted Obozo`s trap need to start getting the deadbeats who want this expansion moved into states that have. I propose a state tax credit and fund to pay for their moving expenses, I`d enlist the help of the leftists in the states that have accepted, thru intermediaries, to get these moochers onto those states` welfare roles and into their exchanges. Its an expense thats worth it in the long run, let them have their utopias so when the collapse and WROL comes, the bulk of the most ardent zombies will have been sent packing to feed on their leftist enablers.

Although Christie emphasized he is "no fan of the Affordable Care Act,"

Uh-huh. Christie shilled for Romney, who invented it, and then does this.

New Jersey, if you like this guy as your governor, please keep him. And try not to let him leave.

Ok, we’ll go one step at a time.

Anything - anything - that opens up any government checkbook to paying private companies for anything, amounts to throwing money at those private companies.

In this case, it’s the medical industry.

Want to get backing from all the .... oh, I don’t know... pharma companies in NJ... throw government dollars at them.

It is a feeding frenzy of unimaginable proportions; a free-for-all, a gold rush. Get as much government sales as you possibly can. $1.50 for a single aspirin tablet - no problem. It’s all “medical”, so there is perfect “cover” for the financial scam. How can anyone want to “deny care” ?

If State funded “programs” increase, you should be angry. If Federally funded “programs” increase, you should be angry. Either way, the spending guarantees you higher taxes in the future.

Who arranges for government bond sales (borrowing) ? And who provides the “marketplace” for government debt. Those are the folks who all citizens are financially enslaved to through debt slavery.

Frenzied government spending results in more need for government borrowing. That’s why many major “capitalist” corporations and wall street - seemingly out of character - support leftist policies. They are monopolists feeding at the government trough.

Most people - on the political left, center and right - can’t see that this is what is really going on behind the scenes of “politics”. Left and right are just two masks of the same big capital interests.
