The number of new faces seen every Shabbat in the synagogues of England, rose sharply in 2012, as French Jews are escaping a surge of anti Jewish attacks, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.
The number of French Jews crossing the Channel to find a safe haven in the U.K. has increased as figures released this week showed a 58 percent increase in anti-Semitic incidents in France for 2012.
Last week, the Chief Rabbi of the U.K., Lord Sacks, warned: "the position of the Jews in Europe today is very difficult. There are threats now to ritual circumcision and ritual slaughter. Jews in Europe have begun to ask, is there a place for us in Europe?"

Agree. Living in Britain in the 80’s, I felt it was pretty antisemitic even back then. Something about Britain vowing to protest Palestine before the UN ‘created’ Israel for the Jews. And so many Jews vote for antisemites......it is appalling.

Many years ago I watched a report on CBC about Jews from France were moving to Canada. Wish I could remember more about the report.

I wonder why they don’t go to Israel? If you’re going to leave the country you’re living in, why not go ‘home’? They have automatic citizenship in Israel.
Israel is very hard to survive in. It costs what it does to live like in America, but income is far less. It is not unusual for westerners to try living there and then find themselves leaving in order to make enough to live.
Hint: Backbone is not to be found in any church in France, they are all vacant.
I doubt there is anyone left in France that has learned about Chuck the Hammer and hold his actions proudly as a tradition. He is still a hero of mine even though I am not French.
I just watched Schindler’s List the past couple nights on my Tivo. Between the Weimar and Nazi gun confiscation followed by the Holocaust, it was a chilling forewarning. You scream at the TV “FIGHT BACK, you’ve got them way outnumbered.” Instead, the defenseless were led as sheep to slaughter. It takes a Obamugabe to make you really admire and respect the Founding Fathers who wrote the Second Amendment and the legal scholars who justified it in various legal treatises shortly after it was ratified.
Can't speak for Canada but unless they speak Spanish or prominse to vote (and donate) "progressive" they might have trouble gaining admission to the US.OTOH I'm sure you know that it's as easy to move between EU member nations as it is to move between New York and Hawaii or Nova Scotia and British Columbia.
