A Christian pastor was recently slaughtered in the Muslim-majority African nation of Tanzania. While butchering Christian minorities is becoming increasingly common in that part of the Muslim world, the context for this latest slaughter is somewhat different than the usual forms of Christian persecution under Islam—such as allegations of “blaspheming” the name of Muslim prophet Muhammad. And yet, as in most forms of modern-day Muslim attacks on Christians, it too fits patterns and precedents.
On February 11, Pastor Mathayo Kachili of the Tanzania Assemblies of God Church was beheaded by Muslims. According to the report, a spokesperson from the local police department
said conflicts had been boiling for quite a while now in the area where a section of what are believed to be Muslim leaders had demanded immediate closure of butcheries owned by Christians. He said that a group of youths believed to be Muslims assaulted several Christians using sticks and machetes and attacked a butchery owner at Buseresere town. During the confrontations pastor Kachili was beheaded.

Christians had better organize and learn to defend themselves — and to kill some of these Muslim zealots for good measure — or else there aren’t going to be any left in Africa. The pattern is clear — Muslims slaughter more and more Christians and then turn the area into a Sharia dominated hellhole. The Christians do nothing other than die and live under the oppression.

Well, 80+ of them signed a letter asking Kerry to intercede on behalf of the Iranian pastor who has been re-imprisoned. As for the Christians in muslim countries doing something about it...just exactly what do you propose? It’s not like they have any rights, you know. They cannot have guns to protect themselves. If they are jailed, they will likely starve to death. If they got any visitors to come and bring food or clothing, then they would be jailed. We lived in Turkey 6 years. It was considered MODERATE. But, not if you were a Christian living there. They were routinely rounded up and jailed.
However, lest we forget, Christ said in “Matthew 5:11-12

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
For non-religious things, yes, maybe stand your ground. But, for religious purposes, I believe that we need to take it...the persecution. We should be the ones standing up for their rights. That is OUR job to do.
Tanzania is not exactly a Muslim-majority nation. The CIA lists the mainland as 35% Muslim, 30% Christian, 35% “indigenous beliefs” (what we used to call pagan).
Zanzibar is pretty much all Muslim.
Agreed. Martyrdom is completely silly in a case like this. They are in a country filled to the brim with rabid animals. Kill them and be done with it.
Preach the Gospel to the young women and children after the vile animals have been properly disposed. The Old Testament prophets got their hands dirty when they needed to.
