WASHINGTON — Dozens of prominent Republicans — including top advisers to former President George W. Bush, four former governors and two members of Congress — have signed a legal brief arguing that gay people have a constitutional right to marry, a position that amounts to a direct challenge to Speaker John A. Boehner and reflects the civil war in the party since the November election.

Yes. We need to come out against abuses of Americans’ Bill of Rights in the “war on terror.” It ‘s gone way too far...kbg material.

Switch the subject to halting systematic airport sexual abuse of Americans since socialists are so concerned about freedom! Random DHS roadblock searches...police drones...first amendment protection from Obama’s push for Shiria...

Americans care more about the Bill of Rights freedoms than the freedom of pervs to wag their asses in everyone’s faces.

Typical suspects. I don’t see ANY conservatives on the list.

We at FR need to contemplate what party other than GOP we can join and rally to a successful election winner. Independent? Hmmmmm, no. Any ideas, anyone? How about the ‘Founders’ party or.. ??

More than 60,000,000 Republicans voted for Romney in the most recent election and did not sign this petition. Dozens signed the petition. The dozens are newsworthy, and the fact that the vast majority of republicans will not pretend that a gay “marriage” has any connection with the real thing is not even mentioned.

Sickening. And why the h*ell is Meg Whitman mentioned? In CA, we’ve already voted down gay marriage twice...........if they overturn the people’s vote, what good does it do to cast a vote?

On paper there are. In practice, there are not. Don't worry, some idiot will be along to tell you how you are going to cause the collapse of America and that you're a sodomite-loving socialist because you won't get in line and follow their "republican" sodomite-loving socialist.

Of course, this is just one more example of why "we" need a bigger tent, and everyone else should just forgo their values and beliefs. Then of course are all the inferences to Bush and Reagan so the low information voters and knee-jerk conservatives can infer that those two supported faggot "marriage," or on some evil NWO conspiring plot to take over the world one civilly union-ed AIDS infested rectum at a time.

Lovely.

>> Some high-profile Republicans who support same-sex marriage — including... Colin L. Powell, a former secretary of state — were not on the list as of Monday. <<

Powell must have been out of the loop when they passed around the list. The RINO is probably upset at missing the opportunity to stab the party in the back again, rushing out the door to sign it as we speak. However, I don't see a single conservative on that list. Maybe you could make a case that Ted Olson USED to be conservative... he hasn't done anything conservative lately.

>> Ileana still votes pro-life, but started voting pro-gay when Key West was added to her district in 2002 (she already represented South Beach, and I guess she felt she had to change her position. Key West was removed from her CD in 2012, but I guess she’s still acting as if she represented it. <<

It's possible she's still acting like Key West in her district. My theory on Mark Kirk vehemently opposing Hagel while gleefully rubber stamping much worse far-left Democrats (he was all giddy over Elena Kagan, for example) is that Kirk still thinks he's representing IL-10 and Jewish voters would retaliate if he supported Hagel, even though this is a non-issue for statewide officials.

My gut tells me it's something different with Ileana, though. She's always been a borderline RINO (her first year in Congress, 1990, she had a pathetic 65% rating from the ACU), with or without Key West, and is really only solid on pro-life and anti-Castro stuff.

AuH2ORepublican is right about Key West though. It's the San Francisco of Florida. My parents vacationed there 20+ years ago and have a story about going to a restaurant there where the waiter ignored my mom and pulled out the chair for my dad and brushed off the seat, attentively refilling his water glass and coming at his beckon call...

Olson has been married four times. Olson’s third wife,[10] Barbara Olson, was a passenger on the hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
On October 21, 2006, Olson married Lady Booth, a tax attorney from Kentucky and a lifelong Democrat.[10][This is why Teddy boy is NO LONGER a CONSERVATIVE]

the MSM (including FNC and BLaZE) are running 100% silent and deep on this issue.

They do not want the public to know what evil they are doing.

God Bless you for posting God’s Word. Sad thing is most church going members do not read the Bible to understand what God is asking of Christians NOW! We MUST turn from our wicked ways and seek His face in order to have his grace and peace on Earth.

When I remark about the traits of homosexuals, people just roll their eyes and think I’m homophobe. Their eyes are closed.

I wonder how they’d feel if their vote was overturned??? We’d hear screaming 24/7!! Pathetic.
