Okay, I get the sentiment - but in a practical basis - what does that mean? How do you walk that one out? Do you just not care any more if you are taxed or regulated into the poor house? Do you quit supporting causes like, oh, pro life or sanctity of marriage? Will you be happy to hear from the Obama Care death panel now? I mean, you can walk away from the system, but the system will not walk away from you.

I came to the same conclusion after the November election. For months we kept on hearing about "this is the most important election of our lifetime".

Yet, on Election Day, there was little to no Get out the Vote effort by the Republicans, no armies of lawyers checking for voter fraud, and the next day everybody was talking like this election was like any other election.

I'm sorry, but I DID believe this election was "the most important in a generation". Before Obama was elected, my family had a 6-figure income, we owned a house, we tithed to our church, and helped out those in need. After 5 years of Obama, we're on Food Stamsp, lost the house, declared bankruptcy, and are on the receiving end of that charity.

Now that I see that the Republican party loves and admires Obama as much as Rahm Emanuel does, I agree with you: following the King of Kings is way better than trusting in Princes.

All that matters to the govt is, will you continue to pay income tax to support its efforts, or not?

I too, am tired. Even our local Republican town committee is full of wishy-washy, limp wristed rinos. They can’t band together to oppose the most ridiculous gun bill.

I would say let them have it but what do I tell my sons in five years when there are soviet style marches in the streets of D.C.?
How do I look them in the eye and say, “I tried!”?

Technically, McDonnell has not accepted Obamacare, so let's be accurate. Not to say that I am happy with his decision.

I relate. Once one realizes that spiritual warfare is taking place, it begins to make more sense. May God bless you.

I think following the example of Christ is the right thing to do. Peter was willing to take on the Roman Army and Jesus stopped him. If He had not stopped him, I don’t think Peter would have been around to be the rock Jesus needed him to be.

As for what do you tell your grandkids, tell them to ask their parents what happened. If we’re around to tell them anything.

Keep fighting the good fight. Don’t compromise your principles. Rest assured that in the end we will be victorious. Keep it in perspective and remember that THIS is not our home.

If the founding fathers were here to listen to this conversation, would they tell us that what is needed is for us to stand up and say, “If these current leaders will not lead, then it is up to us to run against them, win, and lead in the manner we claim to want?”
We cannot change things with the current “leadership”. They all have to go.
That means some 600 new faces are going to have to accept the call to serve their country in an active way, even if it is a burden we do not want.

I’m of a similar sentiment, in that I simply don’t trust any politician anymore. Promises are made and just as easily, they’re broken. These people were elected to carry out a particular mandate of standing in the gap for us against the marauding hordes of Obama’s regime. They’d been entrusted with standing firm and not meekly bargaining away every issue — fiscal or social — that comes to the fore.

Prior to the 6 Nov election, I had hopes this country truly saw the error of its 2008 ways and wanted badly to self-correct, but that correction never came. Instead, America doubled-down on the rampant waste, overregulation and disastrous social engineering policies progressives have salivated over for generations.

I no longer understand this country, other than the fact the traditional values that made her great are rapidly fading and giving way to unmitigated evil.

All that I seem to be able to gather from all this is the Lord has lifted His protective hand from America, and many deep and difficult tribulations lie on the horizon.

I believe that in these times, now that the normalcy bias has clearly been shattered, the focus of many patriot groups has turned to prepping. We should think of prepping in the physical, psychological, and Christian senses. Sure, much of the focus of these groups are still devoted to state and local issues, but I believe that the major utility of devoting time to state and local issues is to better preserve islands of liberty in a national environment of the inevitable decline.

My opinion is that the elected officials are more concerned with the well-being of their political party, and less concerned with the best course for their constituents. Can't say when that shift happens, but it is corruption, to be sure.

As a Christian, I too place His teaching above whatever the worldly people throw our way. And I'm incredibly disappointed with the direction our country has gone, but not really all that surprised. The public treasury is a powerful tool, and the people did not guard it prudently. And now it is being gutted for selfish reasons.

And yet, within my control, I can still try to be the person God wants me to be, and I can raise my children to follow Him as well. Let the politicians grab their rewards now, I'm looking at the long term.

Too late.

USA is owned lock stock and barrel since FDR and the 1930s.

No one can argue it is not a socialist neo-marxist country.

"...I turned on the radio to listen to Mark Levin. He is in the middle of his rant against McDonnell of Virginia."

I am so sorry I missed that one. Hopefully I can remember to snag it from his website and listen later today.

Thanks for posting this. I dearly needed it. Have you read “Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret”? Read Chapter 14.

If you publicly fight them, you empower them. They need vocal enemies to caricature and demonize.

If you withhold attention, energy, outrage, you actually hurt them more. They start to look foolish up there, swinging madly at enemies who don't exist. How could they have won the last without angry conservative opponents to mock?

Ronald Reagan got this. He never wavered from being a nice guy. He never got into angry exchanges with his opponents. He presented his positive vision, expressed his belief in the ability of the little guy to overcome all obstacles when given a chance, and used humor to completely disarm his Leftist opponents, who were every bit as nasty as today's group. George W. Bush perhaps understood it, but lacked the acting ability and libertarian sensibilities to pull it off. He ended up caricatured as a dunce, whereas when they tried so hard to do the same thing to Reagan, it never really worked.

Work on your business. Build up your community. Ignore the Weathermen who have taken over the White House. Their time is coming, and they are ultimately too incompetent and unappealing to keep from being swept away by the next change.

I agree with your sentiments, but even though we should all be getting closer to Jesus, regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in, giving up and giving in is as much as saying that our own children and grandchildren are not worth the fight. I realize that at 65 I’m probably NOT going to see the kind of change in America I’d like to see. However, my children married late and their children are toddlers. Do we give them up? HEAVEN FORBID! If we fail to fight on, we are saying that they are on their own. I WILL NOT do that to my offspring.

Am I discouraged? YES! Is that ever a reason to give up? Not while we have breath. So, go have a good cry, get it out of your system, and let’s get working to save what we can. As discouraging as it is, there are still some good states that are making a difference, doing the right thing. We need to stay active, get the best bang out of our buck that we can, especially on the state level and pray like tomorrow is the end. Just think of this. Do you think Jesus was never discouraged? Do you think that He did not have thoughts of giving it all up, that maybe it wasn’t worth it, after all? It says He was tempted in every way, just as were are. He was not just our redeemer, but our example, to stay in there for righteousness sake and fight the good fight. We all feel like that more often than we want to, and the Enemy knows we are discouraged. All the more reason to stick it in his face...every win we can eke out! I’ll be praying for you! Don’t quit!

So give up voting R because it’s the lesser of evils. It’s really not - evil is evil whether it’s cloaked in donkey skin or elephant. Once the leftists of both parties destroy everything, the adults can move in and clean it up. I too voted for Romney because I thought that getting Obozo’s hands off the wheel was the most important thing we could do to preserve the country - now the fools are happily helping him destroy it. No more - I will only vote for a reliably conservative Christian from now on.
