Washington - The crowd...was downright unfriendly. Perry was interrupted, denounced and heckled for snubbing a Medicaid exansion in his state, but he vowed not to budge.

But the Lone star State's famously anti-Washington governor faced...protestors, of the Texas Organizing Project, who popped up by turns where he spoke.

The article goes on the say that many of the guests inside GROANED at the disruptions, and were quoted saying "how rude!"
Yes, but it's more than just rude. It's a plot, a grand scheme.

Further into the article, Perry's main quote is that Texas won't expand Medicaid as that would be expanding a broken system, and that down that road awaits bankruptcy. Do Kasich, Brewer, Scott et al know less than Perry about this, or do they know it, too, but buckled for other reasons??
Please correct the spelling in the headline word “several”. “Serveral”= several, of course.
No matter how it's spelled, it's pronounced serval in the Texas Hill Country.
eg: "I'll have serval uh them biskits, please."

After James O’Keefe and the late Andrew Breitbart’s exposés effectively put the liberal community organizing group ACORN out of business, various former ACORN chapters have undergone extreme makeovers, branding themselves with different names and different mission statements.
But underneath all of the cosmetic changes, ACORN’s principles and spirit remain the same.
The latest, according to the taxpayer watchdog group Cause of Action, is ACORN’s former Texas chapter, which is using “a new name and a scheme to collect donations and divert them for political use in a way that abuses tax laws governing charitable organizations.”
Cause of Action has called on the I.R.S. to formally investigate the Texas Organizing Project Education Fund (TOP ED) for funneling money to the Texas Organizing Project (TOP), the former ACORN chapter, that was used to fund political activity, like soliciting support for Democrats in Texas who are running for office like Mary Ann Perez, as reported by FOX News. This, according to Cause of Action, potentially violates the group’s tax exempt status, which forbids them from engaging in any direct political activity.
In a letter to the I.R.S., Cause of Action officials wrote that “TOP is the reconstituted ACORN in Texas,” and formed “after ACORN became subject to public scrutiny, and eventually filed for bankruptcy.” According to Cause of Action, ACORN “re-branded many of its state chapters in order that those organizations could continue pursuing ACORN’s goals.”
“Fiscal sponsorship [has allowed TOP and TOP ED] to use a loophole in the tax code to engage in improper political activities under the radar of the IRS,” Dan Epstein, executive director of Cause of Action, told FoxNews.com. “Cause of Action is asking the IRS to investigate these groups for potential abuses of their tax-exempt status, and to hold them accountable for any violations they find.”
According to the report, TOP ED “gave nearly 80 percent of its revenues — approximately $640,000 — to the advocacy group in 2010.”
“While fiscal sponsorships are legal, it is not legal for a 501(c)(3) organization, such as TOP ED, to give any money to an organization that engages in political activity, without triggering various tax consequences,” Cause of Action wrote in its letter to the I.R.S.
The letter also states that “the activities and interest of the TOP are similar and aligned with that of ACORN, as TOP acknowledges on their website,” and “because TOP is not a 501(c)(3) organization and is a fiscal client of TOP ED, the Internal Revenue Code imputes the activities of the fiscal client to the fiscal agent; any organization that acted as a fiscal sponsor for TOP therefore engaged in political activity if TOP engaged in political activity.”

As Glenn Beck and others (including yours truly) predicted, ACORN is moving ahead full speed with its make-believe dissolution and rebranding.
Nathan Henderson-James, ACORN’s online director, explained ACORN’s latest con in an email. In the Feb. 22 email Henderson-James wrote that ACORN was in its death throes and that a dozen ACORN state chapters reincorporated to seem like new, independent organizations would soon spring up to carry on ACORN’s business.
“The truth is that it is hard for us to forsee [sic] any scenario where ACORN continues beyond the end of 2010 and some of us think it might not last that long,” Nathan Henderson wrote. “Last one to leave turn out the lights and wipe the server.”
The email was leaked by sources from Townhouse, an invitation-only listserv run by Matt Stoller, senior policy adviser to the severely undermedicated Florida Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson.
Meanwhile, an inside ACORN source confirmed this to me yesterday: the Texas chapter of ACORN has pretended to break off from the national group and has incorporated itself under the name Texas Organizing Project.
The other five ACORN chapters that have dumped the ACORN brand so far are Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE), Missourians Organizing for Reform Empowerment (MORE), New York Communities for Change, New England United for Justice (Massachusetts) and Arkansas Community Organizations.
Project Vote, ACORN’s vote fraud affiliate, hasn’t changed its name. It may not feel it needs to do so because it doesn’t have the word ACORN in its name.
ACORN Housing, which operates nationwide, changed its legal name to Affordable Housing Centers of America.
There is no word yet if ACORN Housing will continue to offer a drop-in legal clinic for pimps and prostitutes.
Multiple sources confirm ACORN plans to maintain a low-profile for a year or two and then reemerge under a new name.

Kasich, my governor (unfortunately) is going to run for the presidency in 2016.
So he, like Obama, is busy buying votes.
Could be if things in DC keep getting deeper in the tall weeds!

Considering some of those that would like to be Governor, we certainly could do a whole lot worse. Seems to me like a lot of people who criticize Perry don’t know much about Texas politics. Now if we could get rid of Dewdrop, Strauss and Patterson.
