Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told a conservative radio host this afternoon that he believes Americans must be allowed to own firearms to protect against the growing threat of “sharia law.”
Appearing on web-radio show The Voice of Freedom, Gohmert argued that Congress ought to vote down any restrictive new gun regulations because American gun-owners need their firearms as a defense against Muslims who want to subvert the United States Constitution with the Islamic moral/political code.
“[The Second Amendment] is for our protection and the Founders’ quotes make that very, very clear. Including against a government that would run amuck,” he said, before explaining: “We’ve got some people that think sharia law should be the law of the land — forget the Constitution. But the guns are there, that Second Amendment is there, to make sure all of the rest of the amendments are followed.”
Gohmert has long expressed a belief that elements of radical Islam have infiltrated the United States government. Last fall, he vocally led the charge to investigate Clinton aide Huma Abedin for what he suspected were ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. He has also led the push for congressional hearings on “creeping sharia law.”
To the headline: not a bad idea....
but it really was to protect the citizens from z tyrannical government.

I don’t have time to analyze all the cultural and theological BS.
I only know that Obama is the Great Divider, and he is the community organizer that Divides the camp.
I imagine there are a world of folks that I would get along famously with if this fellow Obama was not pissing in the waters of life (COMMUNITY AGITATING)

I suppose we Americans don’t give a rat’s a** what any critter thinks we should be “allowed” to do.
I bought a Marlin .22 yesterday at Dunhams, and the two guys buying AR-15s, and the rest of the crowd buying firearms—as is their right—must feel the same way.

muslims, nazis, or progressives (but I repeat myself)... the form of govt is not the reason for the 2nd amendment. it’s the actions of the govt and the ability, along with the other specific rights outlined in the bill of rights, to oppose those in power... thereby helping to insure our freedoms
The sad part in all this is that people simply refuse to believe their own eyes and ears. They refuse to accept that we are thoroughly infiltrated from the military to preschool with muslim supporters and outright jihadists.
And eventually, they will apologize to the swarthy guy with the sword or AK for soiling the new muslim lands with their kafir blood.
Because people are really that freaking stupid. And have been conditioned to give up their lives and the lives of their families rather than ‘offend’.
Think I’m being ridiculous? Ask yourselves why the families of Ft. Hood are getting the shaft and whose shafting them. Then reevaluate your thoughts of ‘ridiculous’.
His most self-damning words were “when the holy Koran was revealed.”
No one seems to pick up on that one. Revealed. Try it on.
Gohmert says it like it is. He’s got a way with words and whole heap of courage.

Some of these other posts in this thread are a little too much “Islam is a religion of peace” nonsense. Gohmert is spot on that we need to protect from encroaching Sharia law. People need to wake up
