Investigators recover Lanza computer data

NEWTOWN -- Investigators have succeeded in recovering some data from one of the damaged hard drives in a computer used by Adam Lanza and have subpoenaed computers of people they believe were in contact with the Sandy Hook mass murderer, a law enforcement source said Friday.

Another smashed hard drive is still being reconstructed by technicians with the U.S. Department of Defense, the source said.

Authorities are particularly interested in what relationships Lanza had within the online and video game community, hoping there may be clues about what provoked him to shoot his mother to death, then kill 20 first-graders and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School on the morning of Dec. 14.

Earlier in their investigation, State Police found a trove of violent gaming material at the Newtown home Lanza shared with his mother, Nancy.

Lanza attempted to destroy the computer hard drives either on the day of the shootings or shortly earlier.

Investigators also have concluded that Adam Lanza's mother did not restrict his access to the Bushmaster rifle and three other guns he took to Sandy Hook school to embark on his killing spree, according to another law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.

Nancy Lanza "had the means to secure the weapons" inside the Yogananda Street home she shared with her 20-year-old son, but the security measures she employed didn't include keeping them away from Adam, the source said. Nancy Lanza and her son had frequently used area firing ranges.

And how did you figure out God is a figment of human imagination?

I think that's an unfair question, isn't it?

I don't think there is any way to "figure out" a path to Christian faith or to "figure out" a path to a lack of Christian faith.

I am saying, there is a problem with angry young men and absentee “dads” in this country that needs to be addressed

I agree.
My previous reply was primarily in response to the following statement: "So the mothers keep on trying, keep on praying, God keeps on not helping or not giving these kooky boys an epiphany or a Damascus Road experience like prayed for and things get more and more dangerous."

Seems to be blaming God to me

so the eff what? Yeah I do blame God for us being in this horrible situation, with marriages breaking down and men running after sex and porn and selfishly putting their own happiness above that of their children. What a difference it could have made if Adam’s dad would have quit his pigh powered job and spent some time with Adam, huh?

Yeah, quite frankly I am livid with God. Have been praying for many things and none have come to pass. Do not understand how any of this torture is helping God’s plan at all. Sh what?

Next question.

Seriously?!!!

Here’s a thought...she could have put trigger locks on her weapons and hid the keys. She could have put them in a gun safe and kept the combination to herself.

Yeah...it’s really THAT simple.

And just for the record, I don’t WANT to blame her, I’m simply placing the blame where it belongs...with an idiot who allowed her mentally ill son to have access to her weapons.

What recourse indeed. For pity sake.

it’s really THAT simple.

If it is as simple as you state, then you must believe that firearm confiscation would reduce or eliminate murder.

The other issue about restricting access: he lived there, and he wasn’t dumb - he knew where they were and could figure out how to get them.

God gave us free will. He doesn’t control us and he can’t make people live according to his law.

Well, I’ve seen sillier comments, but yours is near the top. Putting trigger locks on your weapon or putting them in a safe and NO relation to gun confiscation whatsoever. Are you sure you read my post?

I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt because you don’t strike me as a stupid person. It’s got to be one or the other.

“... an idiot who allowed her mentally ill son to have access to her weapons.”

And she ensured he was trained and proficient on the weapons.

She had the time and money to help him. Instead she empowered his madness.

Who initiated the divorce?

Who had the house and alimony?

Who took custody of the boy?

She cultivated a monster and the monster got loose.

Believing trigger locks and gun safes is a simple solution to prevent someone intent on murder is silly.

You can’t be THAT stupid. Suggest you put the shovel down.

Trigger locks and gun safes will ABSOLUTELY prevent someone intent on murder from using the guns on which those locks are applied or that are stored in those safes. That’s why they are sold and used.

Yeah, it really is THAT simple.

"Those guns", but trigger locks and gun safes ABSOLUTELY won't prevent a premeditated murderer intent on mayhem.....unless of course you have a way of making it mandatory for everyone including gangbangers, drug dealers and street criminals. Oh wait, those people just don't GAS, do they?

At least you finally got on the right track. Of course your correct points have nothing to do with what I said, but better late than never.

??? Sorry, son. You’re the one who went all hincky, blabbing idiotic nonsense about believing “firearm confiscation would reduce or eliminate murder” and that “making it mandatory for everyone including gangbangers, drug dealers and street criminals” to have such was somehow part of or even related to what I actually said.

Trust, I don’t need a picture, you’re stupidity is self apparent.

I’m on the Autism spectrum and I killed 45 last night. I admit that some of those were shared kills but I was using a bolt action part of the time.

Which only proves that you are either senile or stupid. What I posted was, "If it is as simple as you state, then you must believe that firearm confiscation would reduce or eliminate murder."

Simply put, YOU must believe. Because YOU believe simply, that trigger locks and gun safes would have prevented a cold blooded, premeditated murdering POS from slaughtering defenseless women and children.

This mother did more damage to responsible gun owners with her recklessness than anyone in my lifetime.

See. You’re stuck on stupid.

OK Brainiac. Let’s try to approach this from your point of view. Scratch that. I’m not putting my head up my butt.

Anyway, try to follow.

1. This thread was about Adam Lanza.
2. I said that trigger locks or a gun safe would have prevent him from having access to his MOM’S gun.
3. You spassed out, stuck your finger in your butt, smelled it and started babbling nonsense.
4. More intelligent stuff from me.
5. More stuck on stupid by you.
6. In latest babble you accurately state that I believe “simply, that trigger locks and gun safes would have prevented a cold blooded, premeditated murdering POS from slaughtering defenseless women and children.” snicker...
7. Yes, I know this will come as a shock to you, but trigger locks and gun safes ABSOLUTELY would have prevented cold blooded, premeditated murdering POS ADAM LANZA from slaughtering defenseless women and children with his mom’s weapons. Simply, absolutely.

Period.
