Many high school students enjoyed free lunch given to them by a local rabbi and while they were eating they listened to a lecture from the rabbi.

Students at Great Neck North High School can hang out at fast food restaurants, go to the houses without supervision or do almost anything they want for lunch. But listening to a Torah lecture in an Orthodox Jewish synagogue should require parental consent, according to the school.

That’s between the parent and the student. The school should butt out. They have no right to even raise the issue. It’s none of their concern.

Another Reason to Homeschool.

( I do not use the acronym because there are government school defenders who manage to search out pornography in the most innocent posts.)

What silly state bureaucrats. Its called free speech and freedom of association. Bit different when the students are herded into auditoriums and forced to hear the rants of some guest liberal speaker the bureaucrats deemed appropriate.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

And we all know that if it were an imam and he was promoting islam, there'd have been no objection raised at all.

That's right. It wasn't on school property or on school time. It was their lunch period.

Now watch the school decide that students aren't allowed to go off campus any more, like many schools do.

Incarceration indeed.

Obama bribes people with free food- why shouldn’t anyone else. NONE of the principal’s business - he needs to STHU.

Rabbi Avraham Kohan, completely mainstream Orthodox. Not even particularly charismatic. Associated with some of the most famous Jewish religious scholars of this generation.

Can be heard (and seen) at:

Ah..but incarcerated prisoners have rights to prayer rugs in the facility-and GUARDS don`t forget guards. Which a school full of helpless children don`t deserve.

I have no problem with kids (mine or yours) being exposed to teachings from the Torah, the same lessons that were learned by Jesus in His youth. Scriptural interpretations by a liberal Rabbi would be another thing.

How DARE the rabbi do such a thing? Only the government can do that.
And muslims and atheists and LGBT ... but they are sanctioned by the gov't.
