Bipartisan immigration reform plan will cost trillions
Daily Caller ^ | January 31, 2013 | Caroline May

Robert Rector, a senior research fellow with the Heritage Foundation, expects the bipartisan immigration reform proposal, which includes a path to citizenship, will end up costing taxpayers more overtime than the trillion-dollar calculations he testified to during debate over the 2007 immigration reform bill.

“[The proposal] seems to be virtually identical to the 2007 bill and would be extremely costly to the U.S. taxpayers,” Rector told The Daily Caller in a Wednesday interview. “Granting amnesty or legal status to illegals will generate costs in Medicare and Social Security alone of $2.5 trillion above any taxes paid in.”

According to Rector, the majority of the undocumented immigrants who would eventually be legalized by the legislation are largely uneducated, and therefore more likely to be dependent on government assistance. Fifty to 60 percent of the new immigrants are high school dropouts, and 75-80 percent have no more than a high school degree. Ads by Google

“It’s not like they pay in a lot when they are young, and they take it out when they’re old. They are in fiscal deficit every year of their lives,” Rector explained. “For example, the typical household headed by someone who does not have a high school degree, as I said in that paper in 2007, got back then $30,000 in benefits and paid $10,000 [in income and consumption taxes]. It’s a net cost of $20,000. That would be significantly higher now.”

Rector’s numbers, he noted, were from 2007, which means that now the cost will higher due to the increase in benefits programs and number of undocumented.

“We don’t know how many there are,” Rector said of the 11 million undocumented immigrant figure. “You can say all these costs will be significantly higher in this bill than in the 2007 bill.”

Rector added that he is currently working on a follow up paper to bring the 2007 numbers up to date.

“Basically, the figures from 2007 are just under counts now,” he said. “Everything now has gotten more expensive. Obamacare increases the costs considerably. One of the tricks is they will do things like say, ‘They will contribute to the Social Security Trust Fund.’ Well, you can’t compartmentalize these costs that way, because it doesn’t do the taxpayer any good if they contribute to the Social Security tax fund $2,000, but they take $20,000 out of general revenue. Right?”

“They will put a little money into the Social Security Trust Fund in the long term, but also in the short term, they’re taking $30,000 annually per household in government benefits and services, most which they don’t pay for,” he added.

Rector warned that people should remember the lack of border and employer enforcement that followed the 1986 amnesty.

“They almost all came here after the last amnesty, and almost all have been employed here because we did not enforce the law we put on the books in 1986,” Rector said. “There is no actual effort to prevent employers from hiring illegals. Ostensibly, we’re going to do that, but they didn’t do it last time. All administrations have basically turned a blind eye to the hiring of illegals, and we’re to somehow pretend that won’t happen in the future.”

“Everything I said in the past — you can use those numbers,” he concluded. “They’re just worse now.”

Imagine 30-50 million more Democrat voters as these new citizens are allowed to bring in their extended families, we wouldn’t want to split them up after all.

Hey Washington, how about a little compassion for our kids & grandkids, who’ll have to pay the bill for your ‘compassion’?

When I was a little shaver the notion of a trillion dollars was mindboggling.
Will they get to see what a quintillion dollars sitting on debt pallets looks like?
Hey federal gubmint: You suck!

The money is just one part of the equation. The demographic, social, and political costs would be incalculable, virtually destroying the United States as we know it, and in one fell swoop, transforming us into The United States of Chihuahua, with all the crime, corruption, and lawlessness that implies.

Any elected representative, Congressman or Senator, who appeases on this and votes for ANY citizenship or permission to remain here does not EVER get a vote from me again. Nor any of my contributions.

Just another step toward Obama’s deliberate destruction of America. I am thinking that he will be successful.

“Wake up stupid American People!!! (I miss you Terry Anderson!)”

Almost right; I believe that the way he used to say it was

“Stupid People of America, Good Evening!”

He was a true original. An amateur with natural radio talent who spoke his mind and raised all of our spirits.

Fortunately youtube has preserved something of him:

As a postscript, one of the proudest moments of my life was sitting in his lap when I was an even younger shaver and firing his scoped Winchester Model 70 at a stick stuck in the ground across a fairly large pond and hitting it. The stick that is, not the pond.

Pelham, this amnesty will cost a lot more than $$$$.

I was just looking at Texas 10 most wanted fugitives...all of them of ‘hispanic’ descent...yeah, here’s AuntB with her broad brush again.....I’m sorry, ALL cultures are NOT created equal. Mexico, points south, have sent us their criminals so they don’t need to deal with them. More accurately, they are safer here than in Mexico, and can hide in plain site...’in the shadows’... One particular one on the list is a ‘legal permanent resident’...which shows you just how bad the government is at screening these aliens!

[snip]Ernesto Alonso GARCIA is a Mexican citizen and legally resides in the US as a permanent resident. Records indicate he entered the US in 1997. He has been the subject of many traffic stops involving various traffic violations. In 2000, he was arrested for Aggravated Assault-Injury to a Child. This was soon followed by charges of Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. In 2002, he was convicted of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and sentenced to 7 years in prison. While in prison, GARCIA engaged in fighting and assaulted other offenders. He was released in 2006.

On February 9, 2011, the US Marshals and the DEA each issued a warrant for GARCIA’s arrest for Marijuana Trafficking.

On March 11, 2011, the Harlingen Police Department responded to a local residence regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officers learned that two males had been stabbed, one of whom died as a result of his injuries. The subsequent investigation developed GARCIA as the suspect. On March 16, 2011, warrants were issued for his arrest for Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Also does not include the trillions in foreign aid and other foreign giveaways vote-crazed pols will vote for in exchange for re/election votes at the ballot box.

==================================================================

REFERENCE Corrupt Sen Menendz's lucrative port deal with the Dominicans raises serious questions WRT other Third World countries' making deals (for yes votes on amnesty). These impoverished countries have cunningly determined that amnestizing their pressure groups on US soil forces vote-crazed US politicians to handover zillions in foreign aid.

The financial benefits to be derived from amnesty are huge--establishing a permanent Dem majority of Third World "pressure groups" exchanging votes at the ballot box for foreign aid.

IMPOVERISHED THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES W/ PRESSURE GROUPS IN THE US (here illegally): Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico (stateside), Salvador, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela.

WHAT KIND OF FOREIGN FINANCIAL DEALS will vote-crazed US politicians get in exchange for yes votes on amnesty? And who are their co-conspirators?

LET'S LOOK AT THE TAX-EXEMPTS (1) The National Association of Latino Electoral and Appointed Officials, (2) La Raza, (3) Voto Latino, (4) The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, (5) state Hispanic Federations,(6) latino PAC's, etc ,etc, etc (all pushing free-for-all amnesty).

These people need to come clean WRT quid pro quo sub deals made with foreign governments.

We need to see their financial records-- copies of (1) checks, (2) wire transfers, (3) bank account statements, (4) invoices, (5) bills, (6) delivery tickets, (7) correspondence including e-mail, employment contracts, loan agreements, (8) any other books or records.

Scrutinize n/p bank accounts for suspicious activites: (A) large deposits, (B) funds transferred from one account into another, (C) request for withdrawals, (D) offshore activity. Also lists of monies n/p paid to (a) brokers, sub-brokers, (b) family members, (c) mortgage brokers, (d) financial managers, and, (e) real estate agents, brokers, and developers, and the like.

REFERENCE Taxpayers could then sue banks holding tax-exempt monies that cover-up tax fraud. Under the Bank Secrecy Act passed by Congress, banks are required to establish, implement and maintain programs designed to detect and report suspicious activity indicative of money laundering, tax evasion, govt fraud and other financial crimes. “The Bank Secrecy Act was enacted to protect the tax-paying public from harm by identifying and detecting money laundering from criminal enterprises, govt fraud, tax evasion, and other unlawful activities,” explained the special agent in charge for Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations.
