Happy Valentines Day. I have the best wife that anyone could want. Surely I am not alone. Come on, Freeper guys, tell me if you have a great bride and why. Freeper ladies, you are invited to participate also.
Seriously, though, the woman who has put up with me for 38 years has to be the best wife -- if only for putting up with me for 38 years.
What a lovely valentine for your wife. :-) Mr C4E called me to leave my office and meet him for dinner at one of our favorite restaurents. Big red heart full of chocolets too. Best thing is I don’t have to nag for him to take out the garbage and he will even do the dishes. Plus he is a really great guy and a conservative.
I forgot to say that she puts up with me and that is HUGE.
5’10” leggy, full-blooded Italian super-model type. But for someone who’s 6’6” that’s short.
My wife is a conservative also, of course, but only lurks here.
This looks to be the sweetest thread of the day! Any chance, Mods, we can get this in the sidebar?
This is off-topic, but since your profile says you and your wife are near Houston... Hope you don’t mind if I suggest an outstanding church in case you guys might be interested:

A very short sweet movie for Valentine’s day is THE BOOK AND THE ROSE. It is just 28 m minutes long and touches the heart.
Thanks for the recommendation, I have been looking over the links and reading.
My wife is great. She’s put up with me for almost 14 years and 6 moves. She’s a great mother to our 3 kids, an amazing cook, and she’s brought me back into being in a good relationship with God.
Sounds like you have a great wife and family.
Faith, Hope and Love abide. The greatest of these is Love. Happy Valentines Day.
It’ll be 42 years in June. Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart.
Happy Valentine’s Day, FReepers.
Happy Valentine’s day everyone
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! :-)
In our house it’s not about us today. We have a little fella who turned 10 today! What a wonderful decade he has given us. My precious baby boy, how did you get so big?!
That great! I love to hear about long lasting marriages.
I just love your words. Happy Valentines Day to you and your lovely wife.
You are both blessed. :)
My husband is strong, yet the sweetest person I’ve ever met. He’s a 6’2” Virginia born-and-bred guy, Southern and conservative through-and-through. This morning before he left for work he took me in his arms and told me he loves me more than anything. God blessed me so much when he brought us together. It’ll be 17 years in August for us.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Freepers!
Happy VD to all, and to all a Happy VD
Me and my Valentine have been together for 28 years, and together we have four beautiful children; who could ask for more? Thank you for this sweet thread.
It will, please God, be 44 years for us in July. My wife is conservative, an FR lurker - and when our kids were grown she still had a figure that many a woman of twenty five could envy. I couldnt believe my good fortune when I found her - I proposed about six weeks after our first date, and we were married six months after that date.
She cooks, too - a Home Ec teacher by training. Our daughters friend once remarked at our table that the food was always good here, but you never have to hate yourself for eating it.
A young man who was being pressured by his family about marriage once asked about how my family related to my wife initially. I replied that Dad and Mother picked us up at the airport when they first met her - and after a twenty-minute drive home Dad flashed me the high sign behind her back while she was walking into the door of the house. And Mother didnt take much longer. The young man asked, But what would you have done if your mother hadnt approved? I replied, I would have thought that she had taken leave of her senses.I stand by that judgement.
Wow. 42 years! Congratulations.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO EVERYONE.
Obviously, I didn’t read far enough. 44 years?! Congratulations to you as well!
That’s a great story of your early days together.
Just 26 years for us. I say just because it really does not seem like that has been a long time to me. She is truly my best friend and the love of my life, anything I do is made better by her presence. She has a great sense of humor, is an awesome mom, can cook up a storm, and lets me believe that Im in charge. LOL! Sweetheart, thank you for being a blessing to me and our family.
Take from an old guy, no matter what they may say, jewelry is always a great gift.
A gift that pays off time after time! She looks great wearing it and remembers how much she loves me whenever she does. When we used to date I could easily spend $100 a night. That there was cheaper than two nights out!
You are lucky man. I shouldn’t have clicked on this thread. Now I’m in tears—we’ve been married for over 22 years and this was by far the worst Valentine’s Day ever.
I’m sorry to be such a buzzkill.
Flowers and jewelry always help women feel loved and feminine.
