As I said earlier,
those who are conflating
concern for the rule of law in keeping the police state in its proper boundaries
with
“support for Dorner”

are the equivalent of leftists yelling “Racist” in order to not discuss issues that are too hard to address.

You don’t build such a fancy police state and not intend to use it, you know.

If he’d stayed in LA, the LAPD showed they couldn’t catch him even if he’d walked right up to them.
He’d still be alive right now and nobody would need to get their panties in a knot over a leftist icon.

You sure are an assuming fellow. You personally believe that you will be afforded the right to contact an attorney or even the right to know for what you are being charged?

I think this is the problem with most Americans: they treasure their “things” more than their freedoms. I won’t be sitting in a corner of my bedroom shitting myself in fear if law enforcement comes tearing through my home. The Fourth amendment only means something if the rest of the Bill of Rights stands up.

They tear down the Second, you can bet your ass that due process, right to a speedy trial, right to face accusers, are ALL out the window. You’ll be lucky to see daylight again.

I won’t say the cops had any other choice. But when the sheriff denies the fire was set intentionally it doesn’t help his credibility.

In this case, good riddance to bad rubbish.

But in general, firing incendiary tear gas is a deliberate decision to burn a house to the ground, with anybody inside grilled alive. (There are "cold" tear gas grenades that won't start fires.)

And firing in the incendiaries sure does get rid of any evidence....one way or the other.

I'm not condemning incendiary tear gas grenade use per se. But we need to watch out for this intentional police arson of a dwelling and its inhabitants being used against future "tea party terrorists" who "refuse to comply with firearms inspection laws" or whatnot.

"We gave that radical right wing terrorist ten minutes to come out, so we could inspect his gun safe. He refused. We didn't want to risk any police officers' lives, so we fired in the tear gas. As consequence of that decision, the radical right winger was unfortunately burned along with his family, his house and his possessions. Let this be a lesson to other gun nuts! There will be zero tolerance..."

Etc.

The law says deadly force is authorized.

Fine, then why won't the Sheriff's dept. own up to it? They seem concerned enough to deny they intentionally set it. Maybe they didn't count on people listening to the scanner/other chatter.

Could you be interpreting posters' concerns with the officers' intentionally burning Dorner alive with supporting his cause? I don't make that connection.

When they come for your guns, expect the same treatment. Crispy, or Extra Crispy?

GMTA. The FLEAs always do this: start with a popular new "anti-mafia" or "anti-terorist" law, (RICO, asset forfeiture, warrantless wiretaps etc), and then extend it to ordinary cases.

That’s what I was thinking....why did they have to get him out of the cabin right away?

I’ve seen coverage of other standoffs locally...they usually stretch out for hours, and half the time the guy surrenders. Isn’t that the whole police procedure - to wear the guy down and get him to ‘come out with your hands in the air’?

On a related note, a few months ago, somebody in my town (Topeka) shot 2 cops dead. The police immediately stormed a few addresses associated with him, and after a day cornered him in a house. They threw flash bang grenades in and stormed the house - killing him (again not alot of waiting him out).

I remember the usual morning gagggle of cops at the gas station was absent when this happened. it made sense - there was a manhunt going on.

Yesterday - somebody shot two people, killing one, and is on the run. Another manhunt right? Well, not enough of a manhunt to keep the gaggle of cops away from their free coffee this morning. Wonder why.

This is a stupid question;
You don’t think there is a difference between an armed shooter with recent kills and someone, essentially without a criminal record, being served an improper warrant with malice? I sure hope you can tell the difference between those two types of individuals.

Posing it as you have shows you took what I said and turned it around 180 degrees, for there IS a difference.

What I said was, DON'T compare Dorner to Weaver, which the boot polisher did in on off-hand, casual way.

Get it?

What were they sopposed to do? Use harsh words?!

No. You roll out the heavy weaponry by sending a letter of deep concern.

Why won’t they own ot it?
Bad PR.
Plus there were officers from other counties/jurisdictions there.
Do we know which group for certain fired the incendiary into the building?
They had SWAT there, but whose?

Your fantasies say a lot about you as a person.

You're the one who exhibited the boot-lick tendency.

As a combat veteran now in my twilight years I will let those ‘adult’ children sitting in their mommies basement huddled over their computers and playing with other like minded persons enjoy pissing their pants when the first rounds come through their mommie’s house door and they cower behind mommy in fear.

I’ll will be content with my last days enjoying reruns of “Mayberry” and reminiscing with my old Army buddies of a time when we fought for an America that no longer exists.

I guess the term, "To serve and to protect" doesn't apply to everyone...

The police killed Dorner before he could kill more innocents so it sure applied in this case.
