Some of the idiocy here is alarming.

Especially the idiocy posted by pedophile apologists.

“What I heard from my cousin (who is a PSU student) is that Joe went to the president of PSU. Now, what Joe is guilty of is trusting the PSU administration!”

He knew in 2001. That is fact, not speculation.

All Joe has to do, being Joe Paterno, is call 911, then call a press conference. All done. JoePa then actually lives up to his brand image.

Instead, a decade of victims are directly attributable to Paterno not picking up the phone.

Irony, that the man’s name essentially means, “Father”. Chilling.

Here’s the very simple answer, but I am sure you will never see the truth for the simple reason you either don’t wnat to know it, or you know it and don’t care.

Joe Paterno knew that Sandusky raped a boy in the shower. THe fact that he did not raise hell until Sandusky was 100% out of/off of the campus and removed from all contact with boys means he was complicit. No decent or sane human being could rest knowint that a man was raping boys in his vicinity, and just shrug it aside with the excuse “well, I told someone, I did my little part”.

You just continue to create your own fantasy story. Nothing you say is based in fact, just conjecture.

Here's two espn guys that actually know something about it. Maybe you should listen:

Effin' stupid is what it is.

I'll say.

Sandusky was investigated for child sex abuse in 1998, which lead to his "retirement" in 1999.

Two years later, in 2001, Sandusky was still showering with boys, and raping them, in the Penn State showers.

At that point, anything Joe didn't know, Joe didn't want to know. You're telling me that Joe didn't know Sandusky was previously investigated for child sex abuse? His own freaking defensive coordinator who had to resign because of the investigation!? And Joe didn't know that this specially-designated 'emeritus' coach was still bringing young boys around the football facility.

Oh, I forgot, you told me on another thread that Paterno was a "Republican" so I'm supposed to look the other way...

Phys.Ed. instructor at a State Pipsqueak College as a hero? Gag me with a spoon, Rihanna! And the Fan Club calls us “stupid”! Maybe they can replace the instructor’s statue with a statue of Justin Bieber? Just a suggestion. Same quality.

You keep piling it up. Even louis freeh concluded that there was no relation to 1998 and js’s retirement. js took advantage of a 35 (yrs) for 30 retirement deal offered by the state at the time. Joe Paterno told him he would never be the head coach because he didn’t devote enough time to football and too much to the second mile. He also told him he was welcome to stay on as DC as long as he wanted.

He took the retirement package and was given emeritus status - which included an office (in a completely different building) and access to the facilities by the B.O.T. and that was signed off on by current president Rodney Erickson.

As far as “raping” anyone in a shower, well it just never happened. Again, this is confirmed through testimony and even verdicts.

This is fun. Do another!

For weeks and weeks or months I pinged out article after article after article and read tons and tons about this.

I’m done with this crap, and crap it is. It’s clear to anyone who isn’t brain/mind/heart dead that many, many people around Sanduksy knew what he was up to AND DIDN’T GIVE A DAMN because football and money and fame were more important that boys getting raped.

You're such a child-rapist-apologist clown.

You cite Louis Freeh when you like, then dismiss him as liar when he says things like "Joe Paterno was informed of the 1998 investigation" or "Joe Paterno's actions let children continue to be raped for over a decade."

As far as “raping” anyone in a shower, well it just never happened.

You are just a sick person.

Sucks when the facts don’t line up with your thinking or that of basement sports bloggers or shock sports jocks, doesn’t it?

You don’t know 1/10th as much about this case as I do. I say that with all the confidence in the world.

I’d bet you a month’s pay that you never read the entire freeh report nor the King and Spalding Report. I’ll bet you never read ANY of the testimony from any of the preliminary hearings or even the trial.

You read jason whitlock and listen to colin cowherd. That’s YOUR idea of getting to the truth.

More name calling and yet no facts. I’m a “sick person”. Dick Thornburgh, John Ziegler, Franco Harris, Jim Clemente, and a host of others are also “child-rapist-apologist clowns” because we see an injustice and dare point it out?

Whatever. You (and no one else on this thread) pointed out ONE error in anything I posted.

You just use your opinion to call people names. You don’t have a monopoly on concern for children. Jay Paterno and Jim Clemente have done more in the last 4 days to raise awareness on pedophiles than you could do in a lifetime.

Penn State - as a University has done more for kids (go to www.thon.org) than half the rest of the Universities in this country combined.

We want the truth. You aren’t going to stop MY quest for it. Not now, not ever.

Yet we’re all “sick people”

This report is the only one that matters:

Sandusky Grand Jury Presentment

"I didn't push Mike ... because he was very upset," Paterno said. "I knew Mike was upset, and I knew some kind of inappropriate action was being taken by Jerry Sandusky with a youngster."

Do you even know what a Grand Jury Presentment is? It’s a prosecutors Nirvana - with no rebuttal. What matters is the testimony. It doesn’t match.

Football is 3.5 hours a week at a 60 minute game (a mystery no one understands except the advertisers), 8 (?) times a year for college football, some hours on the field training, and most working hours of the year spent in the office. Anybody who has spent any time in an office, any office, knows full well that certain things about everyone there are well known to everyone there, and such things, the ambience if you will, will never find their way into some shysters reports like the two discussed here, or into the courtroom testimonies. What these reports present, in other words, is not, cannot be a complete picture of a universe. I bet therefore that it was well known at that office that “Jerry likes boys”. Well known, and shrugged at.

Those are Paterno’s own words before a grand jury admitting that he knew what was going on. Accept it. He was complicit, and no amount of wishful thinking will change that.

Also consider that Sandusky, with his coaching reputation should have been able to get any head coaching gig he wanted....and yet you never heard about any colleges contacting him to be their head coach, why was that?

I don’t know who colin/jason etc are. Never read them. Just read dozens of articles with excerpts on FR.

I don’t need to read 1000 pages of legalese to know human nature, nor do I need to read 1000 pp of legalese to recognize lies when I see them, or enablers of pedophiles when I read their comments.
