Gee, do you think Obama has that in mind? He’s an active shooter himself, you know. /s

President Barack Obama’s attempt to enact new gun control laws will result in the “confiscation” of people’s firearms

And, you can take THAT to the bank!

Comments turned off, and not one comment disagreeing with the article.

That tells you they were flooded with posts they didn't like.

We knew this was the goal fifty years ago when Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar proposed their first handgun “registration”.

If the antis get a law passed banning certain firearms, you can bet that before the ink is dry they will be back with a new set of demands for more, and more, till there is no more.

Nelson T. ‘Pete’ Shields
Founder of Handgun Control, Inc.

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily — given the political realities — going to be very modest.

Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.

So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal — total control of handguns in the United States — is going to take time.

My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — totally illegal.”

-Pete Shields, Chairman and founder, Handgun Control Inc., “A Reporter At Large: Handguns,” The New Yorker, July 26, 1976, 57-58

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”

-Pete Shields, Chairman emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc., 60 Minutes interview

NOW they have added certain rifles and shotguns to their “to be banned list”.

Some have said that there has never been any confiscation of guns in the US, but I remember differently.

In Ohio, I believe, many years ago, a city passed a law forbidding the sale of “Saturday night specials”.

An injunction was placed against the city and the guns continued to be sold AND REGISTERED.

The courts sided with the city and upheld the law, the the city sent out notices to those who had bought guns, after the first ban date, to TURN THEM IN.

If the gun grabbers lose a couple of people at every house they try to plunder, they will soon tire of it.

mandatory buyback is outright communism.

at that point there is no mandatory that can be resisted.

mandatory car buyback

mandatory computer buyback

mandatory stock buyback

IOW no private property allowed.

No it won’t, and no they can’t, that is unless they want a full blown revolution on their hands. Like I said before, the leftists are scared shitless of the sheer amount of firepower possessed by law abiding Americans, and that firepower is guaranteed by the second amendment of the US Constitution exactly to foment the despotic aspirations of a tyrannical government, exactly like the one that is presenting itself to us right now. The leftists hammer away at our freedoms and liberty, slowly chipping away our Constitutional rights, and with it the very foundations of our country. The big question is, what are we going to do about it? Will it be fight, flight, or capitulation?

I saw two movies not long back.

VIVA ZAPATA, in which the people win a revolution and turn in their guns, then the army attacks.

THE ADVENTURERS in which the same thing happens.

NEVER TURN IN YOUR GUNS!
