Don’t get your hopes up too soon. When they say furlough, they mean they will be taking mandatory days off without pay. The projection is up to 14 of those days for the rest of the fiscal year. In essence those furloughed will lose 1 1/2 paychecks over the year. Something like a 6% loss of salary.

Hey!If we can’t defend ourselves with our god given rights under the second amendment than Obama really doesn’t need that protection either.
I’d like to say I’m worried for him but I’m NOT.
I have to worry about the safety of my family and myself. After all you can’t depend on law enforcement to protect you.You may just be victimised by them under the color of law of course.

No doubt W’s security detail is first on the chopping block.

As many as 1,000 Secret Service agents, officers and workers could be furloughed as Homeland Security prepares for sequestration Lean times ahead for the bars and brothels of DC.

Instead, how about a 10% cut in pay?

They’d be far, far better off to get rid of those clowns busily feeling up old ladies at our airports.

The Secret Service's primary job has nothing to do with presidential security. They are the agency assigned to deal with counterfeiting, which was their initial assignment under Lincoln. During the Civil War the cheap paper and poor printing quality of U.S. currency was so bad, it was easy to fake. And since a number of banks and states also printed money, there were lots of people and capable printing presses in the country.
A better question to ask is why the president would cripple our ability to prevent fraudulent currency from devaluing the real stuff.
The Border Patrol is also being down-sized. The reason for that is too obvious to waste time discussing it.

Too bad we can’t furlough the whole DHS into infinity.
