One of the deputies involved in a gun battle Tuesday afternoon with fugitive former police officer Christopher Dorner has died of his wounds, law enforcement sources told The Times.

The San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the sources.

Another deputy was also wounded in the shootout near a cabin where Dorner was believed to be holed up in the snow-covered mountains near Big Bear. His condition was not immediately known.

The afternoon gun battle in which hundreds of rounds were exchanged was part of a quickly changing situation that began after Dorner allegedly broke into a home, tied up a couple and held them hostage before fleeing with their white pickup truck, authorities said.

Then Dorner was allegedly spotted by state Fish and Wildlife officers in the pickup truck, sources said. A vehicle-to-vehicle shootout ensued. The officers' vehicle was peppered with multiple rounds, according to authorities...

Dorner did prepare for tear gas by purchasing scuba gear with oxygen tanks. That lone gun shot just when the fire broke out tells me that nothing will protect one from suicide.

Considering the American response over the last few months, I have the feeling that in the circumstances you describe it will not be the citizens who have to hole up and try to survive. I bet they would go on offense and stay on offense until the threat of tyranny is over and its willing agents and complicit parties are room temperature, just root them out and destroy them once and for all. Hopefully it never goes there, but that’s what I think awaits any would-be Mussolini and his minions.

What kind of fire burns huge flames for hours on end. An oil fire. Nothing else. A wooden cabin that catches on fire, without oil being around, is going to go up fast and the fire will be over in no time. A body easily identifiable. An oil fire will burn all day and the body would be incinerated. No DNA match will be possible. Of course the cops will say they recovered the body, but no one will ever know if he pulled a hoodini or not.

He was “abused” and if tried would be acquitted because of white racists. UCMTU

Re: defending ground zero

When the SHTF we are going proactive. We defend nothing, if it comes to this.

I'm listening to John & Ken on KFI Los Angeles. The sheriff's department is saying they have a body.

It sounds like Dorner had been holed up in one of these cabins. This morning a cleaning crew arrived to clean, opened one of the cabins and found Dorner inside. He tied them up and stole their truck, which they said was almost empty of gas. After Dorner left, one of them untied herself and was able to call police.

Sometime after noon, Rick Helterbrand, who owns a large property that he rents out to the Boy Scouts, was driving across his property when Dorner came out of the woods with a rifle on him. Told him to get out, take his dog and start walking. Helterbrand asked if he could take the dog's leash and Dorner said no, just go. He drove off in the truck and Helterbrand made his way to the road and was able to contact sheriff.

KFI interviewed Helterbrand and Eric -?-, the owner of the small cabins and main lodge that burned down. He said the cabins were closed for the winter, so I'm not sure why the cleaning crew was there. He called the sheriff and told them there was a basement in the main lodge, that there was electricity, propane and running water, but no cable or internet.

If you want to take on police, step one isn’t to hole yourself up in an isolated cabin, it is to get a job at Dunkin’ Donuts.

Any word on the status of the cleaning crewmembers who did not go with the escapee?

Are we talking about Dorner or Obama?

Want to know what they have in common? Both Dorner and Obama are responsible for the Murders of Four U.S. Citizens, Dormer in Southern California and Obama in Benghazi, Libya.

Some say this is why he purchased scuba gear.. Could extend survivability in a house fire.

LAPD said body was removed from cabin, but Cynthia Bachman of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept said that is NOT true.

The LAPD lied.. Why?
