A leak from inside the Boy Scouts of America last month about discussions on possibly ending the group’s national ban on gay members changed the debate itself by creating an impression that change was imminent, according to scouting officials and taped comments from a meeting of scouting’s executive board obtained by The New York Times.
Those apparently false expectations were dashed days later when the board, under intense scrutiny it had never intended, deferred action.
The proposed shift in policy has been portrayed in news accounts mostly as a kind of trial balloon, floated to gauge sentiment about where scouting might go on a hugely divisive question. But the proposal, though seriously in consideration, was not supposed to become public at this moment, Scouts officials confirmed. The plan for the meeting this week was a quiet discussion behind closed doors, they said, free from the outside pressures that have buffeted scouting, especially since summer, when the organization reaffirmed its ban on gay scouts and leaders after a two-year review.

If you read between the lines of the first three paragraphs of this article, it looks like the high leadership of the Scouts was trying to pull a fast one and present the world with a fait accompli when they got outed by a whistle blower. After all, if this were only to be, "a kind of trial balloon, floated to gauge sentiment about where scouting might go on a hugely divisive question," then why did the board defer action on what all sources were reporting was a motion that could take immediate, disastrous effect, instead of a mere proposal for a collegial discussion?
So the Scouts have been heavily infiltrated.
And that “leak” is, in general, directly related to how the “scoutmaster” expresses his love for his “scouts”?

I would agree the NYT is highly suspect in this discussion.
Why don’t the gays just start a twinkie scouts organization and be done with it?

Yeah, it’s a pattern with an agenda.
They never are satisfied with “tolerance”, with having their own liberty “over there”,
because the agenda is to destroy the “normal”, the traditional, that which is based on biblical precepts.
We need to be responding to these cries for “tolerance”.
Tolerance is defined as being within acceptable measurable boundaries.
When you ask a leftist what these boundaries, they rarely answer definitively, because THEIR only accepted boundary is lack of opposition to anything they want to do.
And their useful idiots, the people who think they are so damned enlightened by promoting “diversity” never stop to think: if every group has diversity then no group has diversity.
My Tiger scout and I posted an 18 overall out of 60 (All age groups) on his first pinewood derby this past Saturday. We might not get a chance to move up in the rankings next year as this might be all of it for scouting in our house.
A question, or proposal, I have raised time and again though not on FR. Why don't they just start their own organization and those who wish to join can do so. Why do they feel compelled to change the policies of scouting which has existed for 90+ years?

Yeah, they were going t try and sneak it through, but somebody on the inside blew the whistle and upset their apple cart. Screw them!
Interesting.. Yesterday I received a fundraising mailer from the Scouts executive committee asking for donations to help fight against the tide of forced “social change,” and that the BSA had every intention to fight against liberals’ aims to introduce open homosexuality into it. The signer was a high-ranking member of the organization (don’t remember his name).
Sounds to me like there’s some major pushback developing within the organization. I was heartened to see it.
There already is one, its been around for almost 10 years. It is called the Baden Powell Service Association (BPSA). Another group called Scouting for All is the homosexual group that is pushing to destroy the BSA.
We need to remember that their goal is to bring BSA down. It is a high moral ground that they can never attain unless it is brought down to there level.

It is the fact this vile topic is even open for discussion that is outrageous. The speed of the deliberations is just another aspect of it. The BSA is done for as an American institution that is worthy of any moral respect if they allow openly homosexual members or leaders. This is because homosexuality is a moral issue rooted in the same godly values that Scouting touches on in the Scout Law, in the reference to both “Clean” and “Reverent”.
It should go without saying that sodomy is not clean by any means and carries significant risks to health that has cost many lives and billions of dollars. The lifetime cost of a single young person getting AIDs is in the millions, more than it costs to graduate a single competent high school student from an urban public school.
In their complaint about the loss of corporate sponsors, are the present leaders of BSA telling us they are willing to bend morality for the sake of money? What kind of message and example does this set for the young people in Scouting? They disqualify themselves by this complaint.
First and foremost...my son is an Eagle Scout. As was Neil Armstrong. The BSA teaches boys the American way. The Communist bastards have turned our schools into socialist anti-American, anti-capitalist training and indoctrination centers. The BSA is one of the few left that instill moral values and a sense of responsibility.
We have to draw the line and take our country back.
The logical solution is for the Sodomites to create their own organization...The Gay Scouts. They can start out as Twinkies and work their way up to Fairy, then Pansy, up to Butterfly Scout. They can call their leaders Bears and Drag Queens.
Perhaps they can get sponsors like KY and Vaseline.
