The White House has heard enough about Benghazi. White House press secretary Jay Carney on Monday blasted Senate Republicans for threatening to block Defense Secretary-nominee Chuck Hagel and John Brennan, nominated to head the CIA, in a quest for more information about what President Obama did on the night that terrorists killed four Americans in the U.S. Consulate in Libya. “We have answered these questions,” Mr. Carney said. “The president found out about the attack in Benghazi in a meeting with his secretary of defense and chairman of the Joint Chiefs from his national security adviser.

Attack Victim Shared His Fears in Messages

During downtime, Mr. Smith was an avid player of an online multiplayer game called Eve Online, in which hundreds of thousands of participants across the globe took on roles like pirates or diplomats in a science fiction setting. Mr. Smith’s online name was “vile rat.”

Alex Gianturco, an Eve Online player and a friend of Mr. Smith’s, said on his blog on Wednesday that he had been chatting online with Mr. Smith before the attack, and Mr. Smith indicated that he knew he was in some danger.
