During a press conference on gun safety in Philadelphia, Vice President Joe Biden said that any reports that suggest that he was trying to take weapons away from gun owners was a “bunch of malarkey.”
"I know that's a word that you've never heard before, although it's now in the dictionary," Biden boasted.
Biden said that it was important for the media to dissuade the American public from the idea that the Obama administration was prepared to do something unconstitutional on guns.
“To be very blunt with you, we’re counting on all of you, the legitimate news media to cover these discussions because the truth is that times have changed,” Biden added, warning that people would continue to “misrepresent” the White House's plans for gun control.
"The social media that exists out there, the tragedies that have occurred, the Supreme Court decision affirming that its an individual right to bear arms - all give a lie to the argument that what we're trying to do is somehow unconstitutional.........

What do Biden and Obama mean by “legitimate” and what do they think is excluded from “legitimate”, though to keep the public ignorant they will not say it?
By “legitimate” they actually think that means only “hunting” and everything else is suspect to them.
This will be shown when they speak, as the only persons they will actually identify as who they are not trying to take guns away from is “legitimate” hunters.
They do not mean being “armed for your protection” when they say “legitimate”.

Happens all the time in the South. Memphis just took down the names of three city parks because they had "Confederate" (read, "damn honky cracka white mofo!") memorializations. That happens to high schools in Houston occasionally -- Robert E. Lee High School was renamed simply "Lee" and the team name was changed from "Rebels" to something meaningless. (Platypuses? Nematodes?)
When New Orleans fell under the heel of a black political machine run by Ernest Morial, father of Marc Morial the Unindicted Felon of New Orleans, the city parks were instantly stripped of their Confederate monuments (except for the rather large and bulky column topped by a statue of Bobby Lee, in the middle of Lee Circle). The large busts on stone pedestals were sequestered in a warehouse whose location is kept secret, and on significant days of the year, black city employees go there and party and piss on them and do other demeaning things to the monuments and the white men they memorialize.
