Seeking leads as the massive manhunt for Christopher Dorner -- the former Los Angeles police officer suspected in three killings -- progressed into its fourth day, authorities on Sunday announced a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the reward at a news conference at Los Angeles Police Department headquarters.

“This search is not a matter of if, but a matter of when," he said. "I want Chris Dorner to know that.”

With all the fresh mtn snow they had at Black Bear, that’s definitely possible.

That’s what I was thinking. He may have already reached ambient outside temperature.

That is pretty reckless and irresponsible to put people in water looking for blood.

They should just do their damn job and leave regular fold out of their mess.

Chief Beck wants Dorner dead, to avoid a coming circus trial and major embarrassment. This is going to get very ugly and bloody.

For a million dollars, suspect anyone with a cadaver dog will be searching those woods.

a big payday might cause someone to roll over on the murdering animal.

If $1M is offered today, it would make sense for his assistant to wait a week - it will be $10M then. Especially if Chris Dorner kills again. This money comes from the public treasury, so it's essentially free.

Someone who is more cynical than me might even say that LAPD already has Chris Dorner's body in the freezer, and the $1M offer is just an under the table transfer of public money to important people. But of course even a thought of corruption anywhere in LA would be laughable.

He knows he’s a dead man. It’s in the sick f’s manifesto. Problem is, he doesn’t care. Knows this ain’t going to trial and he’s toast. But unfortunately, more people will probably die before he expires.

As far as where he’s at, he’s had 3 years to plan this. He’s probably in some bunker with his communications gear and weapons and a bunch of canned goods having an early dinner and getting ready to go to the Grammys. But then again, if he wants to continue to target specific individuals, he won’t go or he may use the probable massive LAPD deployment at the Grammy’s to go target someone somewhere else.

If he wants to go out in a blaze of media glory, he’ll do it tonight. Oscar is too far off.

Somebody better get this guy soon.

Nope...Helpers don't get paid....they get arrested and charged with the same crime as the criminal they're helping.

A million bucks is for his ego...trying to get him to move....

Who is really the bad guy here? This guy or the police who are shooting at unarmed women delivering newspapers in a truck entirely different than the one he was driving.

On a thread last night, someone made a good point. Considering the hair trigger lead flinging going on, if a person were to report a sighting, that person could well cause the death by cop of the wrong/innocent people.

I’d think long and hard about making that call.

I wouldn't and it wouldn't take a reward to do it. He's an animal and needs to be put down.
