It’s actually quite brilliant. Campaigns cost money. It allows them to target specific messages to specific people. It saves them a ton of money. It is particularly effective in a society where people don’t communicate with their neighbors and fellow citizens. It used to be that politics was about selecting the best person for a job. And the best person was the candidate who would get the most effective and efficient use out of the taxpayer’s hard earned dollars. Now, politics is all about voting for the person who will give me the most stuff.

We keep making the mistake of thinking that the Democrats want to turn this country into a socialist prison. Do you think they really want to be wardens in a socialist prison? Of course not. They just want to loot the public treasury for their own benefit. In order to maintain their access to the public treasury, they have to receive greater than 50% of the vote. To them, winning 52% of the vote is overkill and a waste of their resources. This database will allow them to win elections with a minimum expense. The Democrats have become high-tech thieves.

Exactly. And that knowledge will keep them from wasting time and money trying to convince you to vote Democrat. I didn’t receive any campaign mailings from the Democrats prior to this past election. That saved them money that they could spend reinforcing their base or going strong after the undecideds.
They had the not-ready-for-prime-time Orca (sp?) supposed to play a similar role... crashed for about an hour when it was most needed.
