Great idea. Anyone here involved in the higher-ups at the BSA who can pass this on?
The BSA requires anyone going on a Camping Trip to take Youth Protection Training. They are very strict about never allowing an adult leader to ever be alone with a Scout.
The Catholic Church ignored homosexual behavior in its seminaries. The priests had interpreted “celibacy” to mean “no sex with women”.
The homos will pass all background tests with flying colors. Parents need to start doing stuff with their kids. Screw all these organizations.
That's a good start. Better yet, why not mandate that scout leaders be fingerprinted and undergo a police background check. I've been through the process and cleared to work with the children in our parish. In our current culture, such a check should be the minimum requirement for a scout leader.
The problem is pedophilia. According to this article, scouts have been sexually abused by scout leaders who are married with children. I rest my case.
That’s all fine and good and a good idea IMO; being “fingerprinted, a police background check and two training sessions in identifying sexual predators”. And I have several relatives who are teachers and a great niece in college working on her teaching degree who is ready to start student teaching, who have all gone through extensive background checks and FBI finger printing and some relatives (one who is gay BTW) who are involved in teaching HS bands on a contract or volunteer basis, who are not school employees, but they all have had to do this - submit to fingerprinting and background checks and have for many years now and all passed with flying colors. But I will also point out that none of these precautions have prevented some band teachers and contracted band techs and volunteers from molesting children in their charge. I know of several local schools, some that my relatives once taught at, where band teachers, paid contract band techs and volunteers were caught engaging in inappropriate relations with underage girls or molesting children in their charge, despite all the screening processes and background checks.
And while all that is a good idea, it does nothing to stop a pedophile, one who has had no prior criminal record, as sadly many of them do not have until it is too late. And I would also add that perhaps “training sessions in identifying sexual predators” allows some pedophiles to learn what it takes to avoid detection. Just saying.
My point still stands that despite all the precautions, all the background checks, finger printing, “certifications”, etc. in world and keeping out all the known and openly homosexuals; parents should never solely depend on the school system or the Catholic Church or the BSA or Little League or any org dealing with children for that matter to depend solely on their screening processes alone to protect their children and keep them safe from predators. Parents need to be ever vigilant and teach their children about the dangers and keep an open and honest and two way dialogue with them teach their children about what is right and wrong, about inappropriate touching and sexual conversations and teach them that they can trust their parents to believe them when they tell them the truth about such things.
The problem is same-sex molestation. Elton John was married to a woman as was James Hormel.

Since the ban the number of incidents dropped dramatically.
Homosexuality is a mental illness. Common sense tells us not to allow young boys to have contact with queers, let alone go camping in the woods.
The majority of Hitlers Brownshirts( Sturmabteilung) were homosexuals. It’s leader Ernest Roehm was a notorious screaming bender. All those snappy uniforms and men marching around was in many ways more than just politics. It’s this that attracts the homos and pederasts to the Boys Scouts. Uniforms, young men and boys, an authoritative male hierarchy and the chance to exercise the degeneracy of sexual politics and the further destruction of a moral, Western Christian organization like The Boy Scouts.

True; however, the purpose of banning homosexuals from such organization is not to ensure that no homosexual pedophile ever sneaks past the screening. The purpose is to first, reduce the likelihood of such infiltration, but more importantly, to eliminate above-board homosexual indoctrination of children. Remember that whether it is on the curriculum or not, an instructor of boys will have to deal with the boys' emerging sexuality. A homosexual instructor, even if never intending molestation, will validate homosexual urges in the children just to the same degree as a heterosexual instructor would validate heterosexual urges. The result will be an increase of malformed sexual identities, and no one would have to break the law achieving it. The actual sexual contact will often be consummated by others and outside of the camps, dorms and classrooms. The goal of the homosexuals is not merely personal gratification, but rather cultivating a larger and younger homosexual contingent. It is a group strategy.
How about we draw the line in the sand on this one. . and gun control. . and amnesty. . and
Sometimes I feel we've been Juggernauted by the Obama machine. They are well organized. We have to get more organized and fight back. Enough is enough! Time for all good Patriots to take a stand. Live Free or Die!

I do think that if this vote goes through in support of gay scoutmasters, you will see membership plummet.
