There is one truth I have never, EVER seen fail. “History repeats”.

And you’d think that after the various rise and falls of empire, whether the gay Romans or the Communist Soviets, overandoverandoverandover again, people would realize that.

But IMO, there is a reason they don’t and that is liberal domination of the educational system. Even I, who graduated HS in 83 got a decent one.

I tell the story of my daughter who came home beaming that her final essay on the Revolutionary war got a high grade. That essay ENDED with Revere’s ride.

I said “Where’s the war?”

“That’s all they taught us.”

And so History will indeed repeat. If they won’t teach it, we will ABSOLUTELY repeat it. 100% dead certainty. Because learning from it interferes with Utopian dreams.

It’s like George Santayana spoke in vain, on this matter.

NL: “There is one truth I have never, EVER seen fail. “History repeats”.”

That saddens me, but it’s true. Look at all the misery created by socialism and communism in the 20th Century. Yet, our dear president seems to think it will work here, that we can have all our needs met if government acts as a fairness arbiter. It’s been tried before, President Obama. It doesn’t work!

What’s even sadder is we have the benefit of far, far more information than previous generations. There’s so much information available online to whoever wants it. Yet, we’re still going to go down this road toward fairness, social justice, and equality, even though any fool can see where it’s leading.

You can also see where the immorality leads. Even if we somehow turn the clock back on government, you can’t build a healthy society using ruined families. Divorce, out of wedlock births, institutionalized child rearing, etc.. Some people hate the 50s, but look how many children grew up in stable, loving families back then. It wasn’t perfect, but the social ills were generally confined to small areas. Now it’s spreading everywhere.

What saddest of all? It doesn’t really matter, culturally speaking, how hard you and I try to be responsible citizens and parents. It doesn’t matter how hard we try to educate ourselves and make wise choices with our votes. We’re along for the ride.
