He likely put a motorcycle in his truck, and dropped it off a distance away from where he burned the truck, hoofed over to it, and rode away. If he really did a good job, the fire was set with a simple timing device when he was already a goodly distance away.

I like the way you think!

We have IDIOTS blowing up houses in Indianapolis!

Things are worse than previously suspected.

“Dorner served in the Naval Reserves, earning a rifle marksman ribbon and pistol expert medal. He served in a naval undersea warfare unit and various aviation training units...”

A “naval undersea warfare unit” could mean anything from a Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit (MIUWU) to several other type units, to the SEALs.

I doubt it is the former, because in his manifesto he mentioned “small arms training, demolition, ordinance(sic) and survival training”. This raises estimates of his potential lethality by 10x.

If it includes an ability to access and use helicopters or fixed wing aircraft, 100x.

While it has not been stated as such, there are indications that he might have some degree of PTSD, though officially he only served in Bahrain in 2006 and 2007, that was likely just his assigned duty station. Navy personnel were used extensively in Iraq as infantry and in other combat roles.
