When a group of farmers handed out free fruit and veg in front of the Ministry of Agriculture in Athens Wednesday, they couldn't have predicted the ensuing chaos. In just two hours hoardes of hungry Greeks scrabbled to get their share of 50 tons of hand-outs, which led to skirmishes in the streets and comparisons with Nazi occupied Greece in the World War II.
Families and the unemployed queued up to catch rations given out from vans. "Look", an old man gestured on local TV, "they're pulling supplies out of the trucks. It's like war time." "My pension is worth 600 euro", said another elderly woman, "and me and my three unemployed kids have to live on that".
A former electrician said, "I've been out of work for three years. I've done everything possible to find a job. A bag of tomatoes and some broccoli will last me and my wife a week".

Important lesson: do not just give out food all at once. Give out numbered tickets that can be redeemed for food on different days at different places. This limits crowd size and keeps it orderly.
It is also a big plus to have armed guards to prevent hijacking.
God didn’t want His people to starve. So He made farmers..............
Until they lost there farms from overtaxing or subsides paid to undermine them by a know all government.
You are dreaming about tickets and numbers and days right?
Hungry people will be there no matter what...
And so will the greedy ones too.
When you hand out “free” stuff, you will always draw a crowd- whether they actually need it or not
Usually when a population starts to starve,while their leaders discuss Global warming(a new nuance to an old crisis),then things are about to get very ugly.
Eventually Greeks will realize their leaders are effectively controlling them through lies and manipulations.Beyond that,it has no interest in taking care of them or protecting them.
Soylent Greek is people! People who eat people. Oh the hugh manatee Sol .... Sol?
Off the debt wagon and back to the future for Greece. They’ll use as much as they produce before long.

The Greeks have sunk to new lows - They’re acting like a bunch of democrats.
Security is vital in such deals. It gets ugly in a hurry if the food you just gave to a child or elderly person is immediately snatched by an adult. That is why a multiple screen is best.
The furthest cordon, they just show they have a ticket. At the second cordon, you take their ticket one at a time, so they approach and get food. Then they leave by another exit where there is no crowd, and a watch is kept for predators.
I was accused more than once of using that quote more than I should, also I was berated using a quote from a fantasy TV program in relation to a serious subject (prepping).
