I can no longer consider myself ‘law-abiding’. I will henceforth consider myself ‘peaceable’.......for now.

First, we’re not all Kommiefornians. I know Im not for sure. Second, I have NO sympathy what so ever for gun owners there. They’ve been AWOL for the last decade or 2 happy to swallow every foolish infringement of the 2A. I would imagine some %age also votes D. Well, good luck and don’t come calling. In fact stay put, the other states don’t want to be infested by cowards and Ds. Also the weather is horrible everywhere else.

“If that does not scare you as an American then you have no pulse, because as goes the second amendment so goes every other freedom that this great country has to offer… and as goes California, so goes the rest of the country.”

The article was generally a good one, but on this point the author may be wrong.

We have reached the point where “what goes on in California” (or in New York or Illinois, for that matter) no longer portends what will happen in, say, Oklahoma or Wyoming.

This is because the nation has grown so divided, and because those divisions continue to grow deeper. We are no longer “a unified nation” beyond that which is “for show”.

California is a deep-blue state (as are the states of the Northeast, Illinois, Maryland, etc.), and now totally controlled by the left. There’s actually a very good chance that this gun grab -will- pass within California. That doesn’t mean it’s going to pass in Arizona, or Texas, or in the other red states.

As the nation (at least the federal government) marches towards a quasi-totalitarian “controlled” state, it is the blue states that seem to be at the forefront. We are witnessing their rush to establish [what they claim to be] “security”, at the expense of personal liberty.

Yet at the same time, the red states are moving in exactly the opposite direction — seeking to establish protections at the state level which further enhance the original intent of The Founders.

The nation’s “house” is literally dividing before us.

How long will it continue to stand?

The proposal to compel gun owners to purchase insurance
is laughable. They attempt to compare gun insurance to auto
insurance. Excuse me but driving is a privilege while gun
ownership is a right. Insurance requirement is an undue
restriction on a right.

Folks shouldn’t get their panties in a twist over gun laws. Ignore
them where you can. I do. The whole thrust of the 2nd A in-
volves breaking the law when a tyrannical government makes
it necessary. Mass disobedience works for them. Why not us?

I do find humor in politicians who do things that they know nothing about and then find out that they did something they don't like and can't live with.

For example, if they require firearm liability insurance what do they really think will happen.

Right now through the NRA you can get “Self-Defense Insurance as a rider to the Excess Personal Liability coverage” that is offered through the NRA to members.

I would guess that law-abiding Californian will reach out to the NRA for some of their specialized insurance needs, and that will increase the ranks of NRA members in California and the political clout of the NRA in California.

It this really a smart thing for Dem's to do? It will financially hurt a lot of law abiding people and a lot of people will just go bare like they do on auto insurance. So the law on insurance might make a few lawyers rich and a few firearm owners to give up their firearms, but the major effect will likely be to drive people into the arms of the NRA.

Fascinating.

All these bills will pass because California now has a democrat supermajority in the State legislature, and the governor is a Cuomo clone on guns.
