BREAKING: Obama to hand over drone documents ahead of Hagel hearing

Posted by CNN White House Producer Lesa Jansen

Washington (CNN) - Amid new controversy over his administration's targeted killing of American citizens, President Barack Obama has yielded to demands from Congress to turn over to them classified Justice Department legal advice justifying the policy.

The president's move comes on the eve of confirmation hearings Thursday for his CIA director-nominee John Brennan, and complaints from senators - including several Democrats - about secrecy surrounding the drone policy.

If it is not a legal document, how can it back the President? What is his legal authority? Can he have an illegal policy that kills people in conflict with both the U.S. Constitution and International Law and not be in violation of U.S. Law and not be guilty of war crimes? Isn’t there something called due process missing somewhere here?

No doubt these documents will be irrelevant, prior policies, or doctored.

I doubt seriously the kenyan marxist would hang himself. This is but another smoke and mirrors move to attempt to put a lid on this and attempt to thwart further actions with a claim that all documents were released and already discussed.

The documents are meaningless -get some actual witnesses that made decisions and prosecuted the policy.

I am conflicted about this issue. While I prefer American citizen terrorists go through our due process, I also don’t have a problem with such traitors deaded overseas via whatever means.

yes - where the hell are these people?

and why aren’t Republicans asking about what happened to them and bringing them into hearings to give us an eye-witness account of what happened?

Hey Beck, FOX, Rush, Levin, Hannity!

There were 32 that survived the Benghazi attack.

Where are They?

When are you going to interview them?

..

Remember - Homeland Security has already said that our trained American combat Vets coming home are likely to be dangerous home-grown terrorists when they return home to civilian life.

At that point Obama could simply nail them with a drone on the suspicion that they are a danger to......

Obama always says “I want/know” - or “according to ‘polls’ most of the NRA members want more background checks and ‘reasonable’ regulations”

- Hasan #2 never says “This is what is constitutional and legal....”

He says “I will go under the radar” to Sarah Brady -

Remember how every air strike under GW Bush “killed dozens of innocent civilians at a wedding party”?

..

lemme guess. The “secret” documents will reveal that Obama is a victim and the real perp is the white guy.

Starting to think this whole drone leak and now document drop are to take the focus off of Benghazi at today’s hearing. It is just too convenient. This administration never hands over anything!! Now suddenly they are releasing documents before a big hearing and a few left wing media shills are writing articles on drones today? I hope the republicans are not fooled by the new shiny object.

STICK TO GETTING ANSWERS ON BENGHAZI!!

Homeland security has named just about every political enemy of obama as a potential terrorist.

baraq is going to punish his enemies while rewarding his friends. He has more flexibility now. Lots of stuff under the radar. When the political winds turn ugly in the middle east, he will stand with islam.
And on and on.

Yeah, I know all that. After much thought, I figure they have given up their right to "due process" as an out-country combatant working for another regime or agency.

I'm still having trouble understanding why the murdering Islamist Hassan has not been tried and executed for the Ft. Hood massacre. In a just world, he would have been tried, convicted, and sentenced within a month. Is there any possible doubt about his culpability? What happened to swift military justice? Oh right, lawyers.

It was always about the sovereignty of the states, the 10th Amendment. Davis was prophetic. We’re right back at it again.

That we are. I just don't see it ending without a fight. It's either secession or full scale revolution. We are Not just going to give America to the communists!
