Former Rep. Walsh forming super-PAC to counter Rove

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) is starting his own super-PAC to counter a group conservatives fear will protect establishment candidates from primary challenges.

The tweet by Walsh, the outspoken former congressman, is in response to the creation of the Conservative Victory Project, a super-PAC being launched by Karl Rove, formerly a top adviser to President George W. Bush.

The founders of the Rove super-PAC intend to engage in GOP primary races and back the most electable candidate. The group argues that a number of untested conservative candidates made it through 2012 primaries, only to lose in the general election.

The Conservative Victory Project's formation, though, has sparked strong criticism from a number of GOP grassroots and Tea Party organizations.

"They want power, and they will sacrifice principle for power," said Amy Kremer, the head of the Tea Party Express. "We will not sacrifice principle."

Walsh, a Tea Party favorite, lost his bid for reelection in 2012 to Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.)

She’s angling to become the next Arianna Huffington.

The GOP goes left and loses voters. Fox News goes left and loses viewers. You’d think one would learn from the other.

True, but I don't think either one really gives a flip about that, anymore.

No problem Jim.

I once was kind of a fan of Ann's but began to realize that she wasn't so much conservative as she was about selling her books.

Then when I heard her trashing conservatives, especially snarky comments about pro-lifers, then promoting RINOs, 'cause they are electable, I realized that like so many folk that unfortunately wind up on FOX, especially, they wind up making cozy statements about RINOs or trashing true conservatives.

As Warhol once stated, "everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame."

Rove’s unelectable are so much worse. Can anyone remember when Crist was a Republican? There are more that he and his group supported. The electability of the Tea Party backed candidates outweigh his by a large margin.

He can just take a long hike and getting lost is an option.

Illinois doesn’t need a new conservative PAC. I’m the vice-chairman of the Illinois Center Right Coalition, a conservative, statewide group that was founded in 2003. We recruit candidates, endorse them, donate to their campaigns, and urge our members to walk precincts for them. Please read our site, www.illinoiscenterright.com. Our next meeting will be held on March 2, in Yorkville.

“The fact that a mere 42 yrs ago Ronald Reagan was re-elected Governor of California tells how far down the tube things have gone in this country. “

It’s also a clue about how dramatically the demographics have changed in California since then. And the Open Borders wing of the GOP want more of the same for the rest of the country.
